Multi Activity Adventures
A multi activity adventure holiday is perfect for those who want variety, some surprises, exploring and socialising.
Many of the adventure holidays we feature contain more than one activity within the itinerary. Many may focus on one, like trekking for example with extras that you can take part in along the way, like half a day's kayaking or camping a few nights. You can also combine exploring, cycling, sailing and many more activities.
Some of our tours are called ‘hike, bike and kayak’ and they do pretty much what they say. In your chosen destination you will be able to discover it cycling, kayaking and on foot. It’s perfect for travellers who like a bit of variety on the trip.
These trips are a great way of getting to experience lots of action on your tour as well as exploring incredible new destinations.
Guided Adventures
The vast majority of our tours are guided, so you will have a local expert with plenty of experience leading the way. They will also help you as you switch between activities, sorting equipment and showing you the routes.
The guides will also be able to recommend local bars and restaurants if you want to head off and explore and book any additional activities for you.
If there is an activity that you would prefer not to take part in, just speak to your guide and they will be able to help.
Solo Travellers
Just over 60% of our customers are solo travellers looking for an adventure so you will be amongst like-minded people. On a tour, you will most likely have a mix of solo travellers, couples, friends and groups.
For many tours, there are no single supplements which mean you don’t have to pay more if you are travelling solo. You will be paired with a fellow traveller of the same sex in accommodation throughout the trip. If you would like to have your own room you can pay a bit more, just let us know when you come to book.
Some trips will have a compulsory single supplement and we will ensure you this is made clear before you book.
What experience do I need?
For the vast majority of trips you don’t need a huge amount of previous experience, in fact many people who book on these trips are beginners in at least one of the activities. You’ll get instruction from the expert guides who are there to ensure your safety throughout.
For cycling, you will need to know how to ride a bike, but not be an expert. For kayaking, many people have never done it before as the instructors will be on hand to help. Even if you fall in, you'll be wearing your life jacket, the tricky bit is getting back in!
Some of our trips (often called expeditions) will require previous experience as they tackle more challenging conditions. If you are keen to try something more hardcore, let us know and we can direct you to these trips. All difficulty levels will be marked on the tour page.
What happens to my luggage?
This varies for each trip so the best advice is to ask one of our experts for more info on the trip you are looking at. But here is some general information that can help.
On most trips, your luggage will be transported to your next stop so you don’t have to carry it around. You will just need a day pack with you with all the essentials like water, sunscreen, snacks etc. That way you just have to worry about enjoying your trip.
You’d normally just pack up, and leave your bags with reception before heading off for the day and you will find them waiting for you at the next place you stay.
