The guides all speak English but it always handy to know a few words or phrases in Spanish. At the very least the locals will appreciate you having a go!

You can drink the tap water in some cities but not in rural areas. Have a reusable bottle with you and the guide or hotel should help you find filtered water throughout your stay. 

Tipping is always appreciated, as the wages are often very low in Colombia. Many restaurants will add this to your bill. We would note, if you’re taking pictures of locals, its courteous to ask permission and maybe give a donation.

Internet and mobile coverage is widespread in cities but not in rural areas.
