When you book with The Adventure People you're booking with confidence. We take many steps to make sure your booking and money are safely protected. These include:

  • Trust Account

    Under our ATOL we must have a TRUST account in place, ours is with Santander. So you may be think: 'what is a Trust Account?' Well, this is a bank account which is ran by The Adventure People and Trustees who are 100% independent from our business.

    When a package booking is made (that's a flight plus a a tour) then any monies paid by you go into that Trust account. We, the business, can't access any of your money until your return.

    This means that in the unlikely event something should happen to The Adventure people before your adventure takes place your money is protected. This means you can either continue with your holiday or receive a full refund.

    It's worth pointing out that most travel companies do not operate this way, particularly those without an ATOL, rather than sperate customers monies they keep it in the same account they use to run the business. Even if you don't book with us please check how your money is protected1

  • Refunds Policy

    We employ the most flexible and generous refunds policy we possibly can. In short:

    • If the operator cancels your tour you get a full refund for that tour. 
    • If the government places us in lockdown and you can't travel, you can move dates or get a full refund.
    • If the airlines cancels the flight you can get a full refund for the flight.


    We work with all of our partners to ensure our customers are fully looked after and can be refunded if your adventure and tour gets cancelled through not fault of your own.

  • Honest Advice

    Sometimes we'll tell you not to book. Yes, even though this is not good for us if it's better for you then that's what we'll do. Such circumstances might be:

    • we know a sae or discount is about to be released do we'll advice not to book yet
    • uncertainty around access or the adventure running
    • government advice making things uncertain


    These are just some examples but throughout the Covid period we actively advised people not to book yet. We mention this because we want you to know that we're not about the 'hard sell' at all. We are here for you above all else.

  • Low Deposits

    You can secure your space on most adventures for a very low deposit. This means you keep your money for longer. If you pay a deposit you can they pay a little month by month or pay the full amount towards your start date. Ultimately we try to give you maximum control on when you make payment and with the peace f mind your money is protected.

  • Monthly Payments

    We know that paying the full amount at any time can be daunting. So, if you like, you can pay little by little month by month and use a payment plan.

    How does this work? Well, you pay your low deposit and then we take what's left and divide that by the number of months before you depart. We then set up an automatic plan for you. It's all automatic, you don't need to do anything.

    We'll then keep an eye on the payments and keep you informed of payments taken, how much is let to pay and anything else. 

    It's worth remembering that your money is 100% protected too.
