    Amman

Arrival day. Please make your way to the meeting point before the 3pm group departure to the Roman Amphitheatre. Upon arrival, the group will enjoy a historical walk towards the Fruit Market, Souq Al Bukhari, and a local restaurant that serves local snacks like falafel, fresh bread, olives, and chicken liver. Then, enjoy a quick welcome meeting in the evening back at the hotel before dinner on your own.

  • Day 2

    Amman

Start today with a guided visit of the Citadel, then visit the Roman Amphitheatre from the outside and walk through the downtown Gold, Spices, and Vegetables markets to gain a true sense of this city’s charm. Have lunch on your own before heading to an included traditional coffee making experience in the home of a local Bedouin family in Dehir area. Witness this timeless tradition and gain insights into their unique way of life by practicing daily tasks like goat milking. Dinner this evening is at your leisure in Amman.

  • Day 3

    Amman/Umm Qais

In the morning, depart Amman for the well-preserved Roman archaeological site of Jerash and enjoy a 3-hour guided visit of this impressive architectural marvel. Then, sit down for a traditional Jordanian meal for lunch at a the tour operator-supported café run and managed by women seeking financial independence.

After lunch stretch those legs on a hike from Aljoun Castle to the ruins of one of Jordan’s oldest churches. Arrive in the quaint town of Umm Qais where you will enjoy a special homestay with a local host family. Sit down together for dinner and get to know each other over a home-cooked meal of regional specialties.

  • Day 4

    Umm Qais

Begin the day with a visit to the archaeological site and ruins that this northern town near Jordan’s borders with Israel and Syria, is famous for. After learning about the history of this area the group will set off on today’s afternoon hike to the Arab Dam which is a great trail for hikers interested in the diverse aspects of Jordan’s landscape and heritage. Return to your quaint village stay in Umm Qais for free time to try out the experiences offered to guests. Dinner will be on your own this evening in town.

  • Day 5

    Umm Qais/Wadi ?ana

Travel to the Dana Biosphere Reserve this morning and upon arrival set off on a walk through the quaint Dana Village, perched on the edge of the epic canyon. This walk is a great way to become a little more acquainted with rural Jordanian life. The views alone make the 2km meander through the village well worth it. Arrive at your Eco-camp in the evening for free time and dinner with the group.

  • Day 6

    Wadi ?ana

Spend a full day hiking in the breathtaking scenery of the Dana Biosphere Reserve with a rare opportunity to step into the shoes of a local shepherd and witness the serene beauty of the country’s largest nature reserve. Walk alongside a shepherd and his herd on this guided trek and then have a hands-on moment while partaking in the daily tasks of tending to the animals. A picnic lunch will be served along the way. Return to camp in the evening to relax and have dinner as a group.

  • Day 7

    Wadi ?ana/Petra

Drive to Little Petra this morning and embark on a hike along the backdoor route to the iconic Petra. Follow an ancient trail that leads the way to this UNESCO World Heritage site through long, narrow gorges and canyons finishing at the gorgeous Monastery. A picnic lunch will be had near this deeply humbling place. In the afternoon wind your way through the famed treasury of the rose-rock city of Petra on a guided tour before continuing on to the hotel for a free evening to relax on your own.

  • Day 8

    Petra/Wadi Rum

Travel to the red dunes of Wadi Rum, a vast, silent landscape of ancient riverbeds and the largest and most magnificent of Jordan's desert landscapes. Arrive to your private camp in the afternoon and get settled before an included 4x4 ride through the unique landscapes and natural beauty of the area. Drive up the dunes, view amazing rock formations, and visit ancient sites where rock art is visible. • Day 9

Leave Wadi Rum in the morning and enjoy an exciting hike through the stunning, untouched landscape of Wadi Araba in the Jordan Rift Valley. This seldom visited area is a hiker enthusiast's dream and the perfect spot to enjoy the rugged landscape without the presence of other tourists. From here, continue to the Dead Sea for a float in the legendary healing waters and perhaps a mud bath with a unique mineral makeup and lots of salinity. • What types of transportation are used during the tour?

For most journeys, we will travel by air-conditioned private buses. En route to Wadi Rum and our desert camp, we will use 4x4 vehicles. Walking is also a primary mode of transport for various activities and explorations.
  • Are international flights included in the tour price?

No, international flights are generally not included in the price of this tour.
  • What meals are included in the tour?

The tour includes 9 breakfasts, 4 lunches, and 4 dinners.
  • What is the typical group size for this tour?

The maximum group size for this tour is 12 travelers, with an average of 8 participants.
  • Who will lead the tour?

All group trips are accompanied by a Chief Experience Officer (CEO) who helps manage the trip, provides information, and suggests activities. Local guides are also utilized where specific expertise will enhance the experience.
  • What are the age requirements for this tour?

Travelers must be 18 years old to join unaccompanied. For minors traveling with a guardian over 21 years old, the minimum age requirement is 12.
  • What are the health considerations for this trip?

It is advisable to drink bottled water in Jordan. We recommend consulting your travel doctor for up-to-date medical travel information and inoculations, such as protection against typhoid, tetanus, infectious hepatitis, and polio. We also suggest carrying a First Aid kit and hand sanitizers. Please note that our leaders are prohibited from administering any type of medication.
  • What are the visa and entry requirements for Jordan?

All countries require a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity. Jordan visas can typically be obtained upon arrival at land and airport borders for most nationalities for a fee of 40 JOD. It is your responsibility to check the specific requirements for your particular passport.
  • Is travel insurance compulsory for this tour?

Yes, travel insurance is compulsory to participate in this trip. At a minimum, your policy must cover medical expenses, including emergency evacuation and repatriation, with a minimum coverage of USD200,000. Coverage for personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage is also strongly recommended.
  • How much spending money should I budget for?

Spending money requirements vary for each traveler based on personal habits for drinks, shopping, and optional activities. We recommend having access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an emergency fund for unforeseen circumstances.
  • What is the local currency, and what should I know about money exchange?

The currency in Jordan is the Jordanian Dinar (JOD). ATMs are found in main cities and generally accept Visa and Mastercard. Cash is recommended for areas where ATMs might not be accessible. Euros, British Pounds, and US Dollars are easy to exchange. If bringing US Dollars, ensure notes are new and in good condition (printed after 1996).
  • What is the tipping policy on this tour?

Tipping is customary in the Middle East. Your Chief Experience Officer (CEO) will collect a Tipping Kitty at the start of the tour, approximately $60 USD per person, to cover tips for group service providers (excluding the CEO). Tipping your CEO is also expected and appreciated, with a guideline of $11-13 USD per person per day.
  • How should I dress to respect local customs?

When visiting mosques and other religious monuments, modest dress is required, meaning shoulders should be covered, and short shorts or skirts should be avoided. Outside of major cities and tourist centers, local dress tends to be more conservative, so loose-fitting clothes with covered shoulders are recommended out of respect.
  • Are there any specific cultural sensitivities or rules I should be aware of, particularly regarding Ramadan?

During Ramadan (which falls between Feb 28th - Mar 29th 2025, and Feb 17th - Mar 19th 2026), it's important to display increased cultural sensitivity: wear loose-fitting clothes that cover knees and shoulders, and try to avoid eating, drinking, or smoking in public out of respect for those fasting. Illegal drugs and the exploitation of people in the sex trade are not tolerated on any trips, and your CEO has the right to expel any group member violating these rules.
  • Is there an extra cost for solo travelers, or will I be sharing a room?

We believe solo travelers should not pay more; therefore, our group trips are designed for shared accommodation, and there is no single supplement. Single travelers are paired in twin or multi-share rooms with someone of the same sex. If you book the 'My Own Room' option, you will receive your own single room for all night stops.
  • Are there any optional activities available on this trip?

No optional activities are explicitly listed for this tour.
