Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Istanbul & Welcome Dinner
Today, we begin our magnificent journey through Turkey, starting in Istanbul. If you arrive today or have arranged pre-accommodation, take advantage of our complimentary hotel transfer. Once you've settled in, enjoy free time to explore this captivating city at your own pace.
Why not hop on a tram and head to the historic Grand Bazaar? As one of the world's oldest markets, it offers a vibrant mix of stalls selling gold, leather goods, pottery, and tea. Escape the bustling crowds by relaxing on a rooftop terrace, where you can enjoy splendid views of the city's skyline.
This evening, we’ll come together for an included dinner. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your tour leader and fellow travellers.
Day 2
Istanbul City Tour, Blue Mosque & Bosphorus Cruise Options
After breakfast, we embark on a guided tour of Istanbul's iconic sites. We'll explore the stunning Blue Mosque, an exquisite example of Ottoman architecture, and visit the historic Topkapi Palace, once the opulent residence of Ottoman sultans. We’ll also see the ancient Hippodrome, which once hosted chariot races and social gatherings.
For those looking to delve deeper, consider the optional Istanbul+ tour. This includes entry to the magnificent Hagia Sophia and the fascinating Basilica Cistern. You'll enjoy a scenic cruise on the Bosphorus, offering views of the city's skyline, followed by a visit to the vibrant spice bazaar, a sensory delight. Round off this experience with a traditional Turkish lunch.
Day 3
Gallipoli Battlefields Tour & Çanakkale Stay
Today, we journey to the historic Gallipoli Battlefields, a poignant site where over 30,000 British and Commonwealth troops lost their lives during WWI. We will visit key memorials, such as Lone Pine and the Chunuk Bair Memorial at ANZAC Cove, to pay our respects. In the evening, we proceed to Çanakkale, where a dinner is included.
Day 4
Troy Photo Stop, Pergamum Acropolis & Kusadasi Arrival
Join us as we journey into the past with a photo opportunity at Troy's famous Trojan Horse. Our next stop is the breathtaking Acropolis of Pergamum, where we will explore impressive temples and the renowned library that once made Pergamum a hub of culture and influence in ancient times. We end the day in Kuşadasi with an included dinner.
Day 5
Kusadasi Free Day with Optional Ephesus Excursion
Spend your day at leisure, or choose to join us for a guided tour of Ephesus, a remarkably well-preserved ancient city in the Mediterranean region. Stroll along its marble streets and delve into the fascinating ruins, gaining insights into its rich history and cultural significance. We’ll then head for lunch in a charming carpet village, where you can witness the intricate craft of carpet-making and engage with skilled local artisans. This evening, dinner will be provided at your hotel.
Day 6
Pamukkale Travertines, Hierapolis & Whirling Dervish Experience
Today, we embark on our journey to Pamukkale, with a stop en route at a leather shop. After checking into our hotel, you can choose to join an optional tour to explore Pamukkale’s stunning "Cotton Castle" travertines, the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis, and the legendary Cleopatra's Pool. This evening, experience the mesmerising cultural tradition of the Whirling Dervish ceremony. We conclude the day with a delightful dinner included at your hotel.
Day 7
Silk Road Journey, Konya & Cappadocia Transfer
Embark on a journey along the historic Silk Road with two captivating stops. We begin at the Mevlana Museum in Konya, where you can pay homage to the revered poet Rumi at his tomb. Our next stop is the Sultanhani Caravanserai, an ancient inn that provided shelter to weary merchants traversing this iconic trade route. We conclude the day in Cappadocia with a provided dinner at your hotel.
Day 8
Cappadocia Free Day with Underground Cities & Valleys Tour Options
Immerse yourself in the enchanting landscape of Cappadocia today. Choose the optional Cappadocia+ excursion to delve deeper into this extraordinary region. Explore the underground tunnels of Kaymakli and marvel at the impressive Uchisar Castle. Visit the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its ancient cave churches. We'll drive through the stunning Love and Imagination Valleys, where nature showcases its remarkable creativity. This evening, enjoy a delightful dinner at the hotel. Afterwards, you may choose to attend an optional Traditional Turkish Folklore Evening, complete with unlimited drinks.
Day 9
Ankara City Visit & Return to Istanbul
This morning, we leave Cappadocia behind and travel to Ankara, Turkey's capital since 1923, designated by its founder, President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Upon arrival, we will visit Atatürk's renowned mausoleum, a tribute to the leader's pivotal role in shaping modern Turkey. As we explore Ankara, take advantage of the diverse cultural and performing arts opportunities this vibrant city offers. This is our final stop before returning to Istanbul for the tour’s concluding night.
Day 10
End of Tour in Istanbul
This morning, enjoy a final breakfast in Turkey with your tour group. As our 10-day journey comes to an end, take a moment to bid farewell to your newfound friends from around the world.
