Itinerary
Day 1
Rome Departure, Venice Arrival & St. Mark's Square
Today marks the beginning of your Europe Highlights tour! We set off from Rome this morning, making our way to Venice, renowned for its enchanting gondola rides and scenic canals. As we travel by coach, take in the beautiful vistas of orchards, vineyards, and the majestic mountains—an introduction to the stunning landscapes Italy has to offer.
Upon arrival in Venice, the evening is yours to explore at leisure. Use this time to wander through its charming streets and sample local delicacies at nearby bars and restaurants. Alternatively, you might choose to join the optional 'An Evening in Venice' excursion—a chance to experience the city's iconic sights from the picturesque canals.
Day 2
Brenner Pass, Innsbruck Orientation & Munich City Tour
Bid farewell to Italy as we embark on a scenic journey through the stunning European countryside toward Germany. En route, marvel at the breathtaking Brenner Pass, a mountainous feat linking Italy to Austria. Our next stop is Innsbruck, where you'll have time to explore this charming city, known for its imposing mountain backdrop, following a brief orientation tour.
This afternoon, we'll arrive in Munich, a city renowned for its post-World War II transformation, blending modern architecture with historic charm. An orientation tour will introduce you to Munich’s restored city centre. In the evening, savour a traditional Bavarian experience with an included three-course dinner at one of Munich's historic restaurants.
Day 3
Rhine Valley Riverboat Cruise & Wine Tasting
Continue your German adventure today as we explore the scenic heart of the Rhine River. Upon our arrival in the Rhine Valley, we will embark on a tranquil cruise along the Rhine, renowned for its dense clusters of castles, charming vineyards, quaint towns, and impressive cliffs.
Following the cruise, we will visit a local winery for a wine tasting session. You might be fortunate enough to sample Eiswein, a sweet wine made from grapes harvested after freezing, resulting in a limited and special vintage.
Dinner will be provided at the hotel this evening.
Day 4
Riekermolen Windmill, Cheese Tasting & Amsterdam Canal Cruise
This morning, we depart Germany and head towards the Netherlands. En route to Amsterdam, we will drive through the charming Dutch countryside, stopping to photograph the renowned Riekermolen windmill. We will also enjoy a presentation on traditional cheese and clog-making, followed by a tasting of delectable local cheeses.
Upon arrival in Amsterdam this afternoon, you will have time to explore the lively city at your leisure. Later, we will embark on a twilight canal cruise, offering a unique perspective of the city's iconic landmarks. We will conclude the day with dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 5
Ghent Stopover, Paris Arrival & Eiffel Tower Driving Tour
Today, we bid farewell to the Netherlands and head to Ghent, Belgium. Known for its exquisite medieval architecture and vibrant culture, this harbour city offers much to explore. We'll embark on an orientation tour to see its key attractions, after which you'll have some free time to wander or find a spot for lunch. Be sure to try an authentic Belgian waffle!
In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Paris, famously dubbed the ‘City of Lights’. During a driving tour of France's capital, have your cameras ready to capture world-famous landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Our day concludes with an included dinner with the tour group at a local restaurant.
Day 6
Free Day: Latin Quarter, Macaron Tasting & Montmartre Cabaret
No matter when you visit, Paris always has something exceptional to offer. Today, you are free to explore the city's enchanting streets at your own pace. Stroll through charming avenues, sample classic French dishes like escargot, or relax in one of the many inviting parks.
For a more guided experience, you can join our "Paris Like Locals" optional excursion. This full-day adventure includes a macaron tasting, a visit to a famous parfumerie, and a tour of the historic Latin Quarter.
In the evening, consider heading to Montmartre for an optional cabaret show, offering an exhilarating glimpse into Parisian nightlife.
Day 7
Beaune Lunch Stop, Hospices de Beaune & Swiss Alps Arrival
Today, we bid farewell to Paris and head to Burgundy, renowned for its world-class vineyards. In Beaune, we'll visit the historic Hospices de Beaune. After some free time for lunch, we continue our journey to Switzerland.
As we enter the Swiss Alps, our two-night stay begins amid the tranquillity of nature. Surrounding us are majestic snowy peaks, vibrant blue lakes, and spectacular hiking trails. Take in the fresh mountain air in this idyllic setting. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Day 8
Free Day: Jungfraujoch Summit & Alpine Dinner Experience
Enjoy a day at leisure in the Swiss Alps, surrounded by some of the world's highest peaks. Opt to embark on an excursion to Jungfraujoch, often referred to as “the top of Europe.” Ascend by train or gondola and enjoy stunning panoramic views, with year-round snow providing ample opportunities for remarkable photographs.
Alternatively, spend your day exploring other Alpine attractions or charming villages at your own pace. In the evening, consider the Alpine Dinner Experience to savour authentic Swiss cuisine and cultural traditions.
Day 9
Lake Como Stopover & Montecatini Terme, Tuscany
Today, we leave the Swiss Alps and head to Italy, stopping for lunch at the famous Lake Como. Surrounded by charming villages, this vast lake is where you'll find Laglio, home to George Clooney's luxury villa. We then make our way to the beautiful Tuscany region, celebrated for its superb wine, cuisine, art, and architecture. You'll have the opportunity to explore Montecatini Terme, a delightful spa town, by joining an optional evening excursion.
Day 10
Leaning Tower of Pisa, Florence Walking Tour & Rome Return
Today, we begin with a visit to the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa—a perfect opportunity for those essential photos. Next, we head to the enchanting city of Florence. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided walking tour as we delve into the city's rich historical tapestry, famed for its Renaissance art and architecture, and home to Michelangelo's 'David'.
Afterwards, you'll have free time to explore more of Florence at your own pace or choose to join the optional 'Taste of Tuscany' excursion for an authentic culinary experience of traditional Tuscan family-style dining. Our journey then returns to Rome, where our memorable tour concludes.
