Their role is to facilitate your travels, provide information on destinations, suggest activities and local eating venues, and introduce you to local contacts. Local guides are also used for more specific knowledge in certain areas.
  • How large will the group be?

The maximum group size is 24 travelers, with an average of 16 participants.
  • What is the age range for this tour?

The minimum age for this trip is 18 years, and the maximum age is 35 years.
  • Is international airfare included in this trip?

No, international flights are generally not included in the price of your tour. On some combo tours traveling between two different countries, international flights may be included. Please contact your GCO or booking agent for further details.
  • Are there any important notes or specific warnings I should be aware of?

This tour combines with other Roamies tours, so your travel companions might change. Some hotel rooms in major cities in Vietnam and Thailand may not have windows. Travelers arriving in Vietnam and continuing to neighboring countries with us should print a copy of their tour vouchers and details as proof of exit for airline personnel. Be cautious of pickpockets in city centers, and avoid gem scams in Bangkok.
  • What should I know about currency, credit cards, and exchanging money while on this tour?

The local currencies used will be Vietnamese Dong, US Dollar, Cambodian Riel, and Thai Baht. Debit cards (Visa and Mastercard recommended) are the best for ATM withdrawals. USD cash is useful for emergencies, but ensure notes are new, in good condition, and newer than 2003. Credit cards are accepted in some upscale restaurants and larger stores.
  • How much emergency money should I bring on this trip?

Please ensure you have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an 'emergency' fund, for unforeseen circumstances outside our control.
  • Should I be tipping on my trip?

Tipping service providers like waiters (approximately 10%) is customary. For local guides and drivers, recommendations range from $1.5-$3.5 USD per person per day. Tipping your CEO is also appreciated, with a guideline of $20-25 USD per person, per week.
  • How should I dress to respect local customs during the tour?

In Asia, the dress standard is more conservative. Pack loose, lightweight, long clothing that keeps you cool in hot, humid climates and covers knees and shoulders. This is especially important when visiting temples, mosques, or other holy sites in predominantly Buddhist, Hindu, and Muslim countries.
  • Is travel insurance required for my trip?

Yes, travel insurance is compulsory. You must be covered for medical expenses, including emergency evacuation and repatriation, with a minimum coverage of USD200,000. We strongly recommend coverage for personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage.
  • Are there any health considerations I should know before travelling?

Inoculations may be required; consult your travel doctor for up-to-date medical travel information well before departure. We recommend carrying a first-aid kit and hand sanitizers. Our leaders are prohibited from administering drugs. In Asia, pharmacies usually stock Western drugs, but bring the full drug name for prescription purchases.
  • What do I need to know about safety and security on my trip?

We recommend using a neck wallet or money belt for valuables and leaving valuable jewelry at home. Many hotels offer safety deposit boxes. A lock for luggage is recommended. Be aware of petty theft, especially from motorbikes in Vietnamese towns and cities at night. Only carry enough cash for the day. Water-based activities are at your own risk unless accompanied by a guide.
  • What rules should I know before joining this trip?

Illegal drugs will not be tolerated. The exploitation of people in the sex trade is strictly contrary to our philosophy. Our CEOs have the right to expel any group member who violates these rules.
  • What are the visa and entry requirements for my trip?

All countries require a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity). Visa requirements vary by nationality. For Thailand, most don't need a visa for 30 days or less, but a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) must be completed online 3 days before arrival (effective May 1, 2025). Also, some hotel rooms in major cities may not have windows.
  • Are single rooms available, or do I need to pay an extra supplement as a solo traveler?

  • What are the visa and entry requirements for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand?

All countries require a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity. Visa requirements vary by nationality. For Vietnam, visas must be arranged ahead of time (minimum 2 weeks processing) as they are not available on arrival, and an e-Visa is an option. For Cambodia, visas can be obtained in advance or on arrival for approximately $30 USD (requiring 2 passport photos); an e-Arrival form is needed for air entry. For Thailand, most nationalities do not need a visa for stays under 30 days, but a Thailand E-Arrival form is required for all non-Thai nationals entering by air, land, or sea as of May 1, 2025. It is vital to check with your local embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date requirements.
  • What currencies will I need for this tour, and how should I carry my money?

You will use Vietnamese Dong, US Dollar, Cambodian Riel, and Thai Baht. It is recommended to carry your money primarily in debit cards for ATM withdrawals (Visa and Mastercard are ideal for a backup). USD cash is suggested for emergency situations, ensuring notes are new, in good condition, and dated after 2003.
  • How much emergency money should I bring?

It is recommended to have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an 'emergency' fund for unforeseen circumstances outside of our control.

  • What health considerations should I be aware of before traveling?

Inoculations may be required for the countries visited; consult your travel doctor well before departure. It's recommended to carry a First Aid kit, hand sanitizers, and any personal medical requirements. Our leaders are prohibited from administering drugs for legal reasons. In Asia, pharmacies often stock Western drugs, but it's best to bring the full drug name if purchasing prescription medication.
  • What safety precautions should I take during the trip?

We strongly recommend using a neck wallet or money belt for valuables like passports, leaving them in hotel safes where available, and securing your luggage with a lock. Be aware of petty theft, especially bag snatching by motorbikes in Vietnamese cities at night; carry only necessary cash and keep bags secure. Your CEO has the authority to amend the itinerary for safety concerns. Optional activities and water-based activities are undertaken at your own risk.
  • What is the policy regarding illegal drugs and sex workers?

Illegal drugs are not tolerated on any trips, as their possession or use contravenes local laws and puts the group at risk. Utilizing the services of paid sex workers is also against our travel philosophy of respect. CEOs have the right to expel any group member found violating these rules.

In predominately Buddhist, Hindu, and Muslim countries, conservative dress is recommended. Pack loose, lightweight, long clothing that keeps you cool and covers knees and shoulders. • How should I dress to respect local customs during the tour?

In Asia, the dress standard is more conservative. We recommend packing loose, lightweight, long clothing suitable for hot and humid climates.
