How much should I budget?
About £1k per month but this can vary and of course depends upon if you're working while on your gap year.
Should I start in Sydney or Cairns?
This is really up to you but one important factor is that Sydney has more flights
Should I take a suitcase or backpack?
For ease of getting around we'd say a back pack.
Do many people travel on their own?
Yes, loads. In fact there are more solo travellers than friends travelling together. The trips we have are designed around solo travellers and over 50% of those on our trips are solo travellers so everyone is in the same boat so to speak! It's a great way to meet people.

Should I take cash?
Take a little cash. You should be able to use your bank card at any ATM. If you're out there for longer than 90 days it might be worth thinking about a bank account. We can help set these up before you arrive as part of our starter packs. Please ask our team if you're interested and we can tell you more.
When should I book my flights?
We'd advise boking as early as possible and if you can, book a flexi ticket allowing you to change dates. Our team are experts in finding great flights and ticket types with airlines so we'd really recommend contacting us and we can talk through.
When should I book my tour?
Like flights, we'd recommend booking your place with a despot as early as you can as then it's secure.
We offer monthly payment plans or you can pay the full amount due around 60 days before you depart.
Can I easily travel around Australia?
Yes. There are great hop on/off bus tickets (they're much posher than buses as they're touring coaches). This is the cheapest, easiest and most flexible way to travel.
The alternative is to take internal flights but this is much more expensive of course.
