Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Hanoi
Your Vietnam adventure kicks off as you arrive in Hanoi. Our private driver will greet you at the airport, holding a signboard with your name for easy identification, and escort you directly to your accommodation in the city centre. You'll be ideally situated to discover the bustling Old Quarter whenever you wish. Spend the day exploring Hanoi at your leisure or unwind at the hotel after your flight.
Day 2
Visit Ninh Binh, Hoa Lu, Tam Coc & Mua Cave
We start our day with a warm welcome from our guide before departing for Ninh Binh province. At 09:15, we'll take a short 15–20 minute break to relax.
By 10:15, we'll visit Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam from 968 to 1010. Here, you can delve into the country's history during the Dinh, Le, and Ly dynasties. We will then cycle around the village, witnessing local life up close.
At noon, we enjoy a buffet lunch at the Ninh Binh Excursion Restaurant, featuring local dishes such as goat meat, spring rolls, fish, chicken, fried rice, and vegetable salad. Vegetarian options are available as well.
At 13:30, we embark on a 1.5-hour bamboo boat ride through Tam Coc, known as the "Ha Long Bay on land." You’ll be captivated by paddy fields, the river, a stunning cave system, and the picturesque landscape.
By 15:30, we rejoin the Limousine Bus and head to Mua Cave (Dragon Peak). After ascending nearly 500 steps, you'll reach the top of Lying Dragon Mountain, offering a panoramic view of Tam Coc. The nearby lotus paddy fields are especially beautiful in summer, providing fresh air and stunning scenery.
At 17:00, we board the bus back to Hanoi, arriving at your hotel by 19:00.
Day 3
Halong Bay Overnight Cruise
Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site, lives up to its reputation as a natural wonder. Prepare for awe-inspiring views and a peaceful cruise filled with engaging activities.
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and head to Halong Bay. Our cruise team will meet you in the hotel lobby between 8:00 and 9:00 am (we will confirm the exact time the day before). By noon, you'll arrive at the jetty to board the cruise. Once welcomed on board and settled into your cabin, enjoy a delicious lunch as we sail past hundreds of enchanting islets.
In the afternoon, take part in activities like swimming, kayaking, or exploring caves, depending on the cruise’s itinerary. Alternatively, simply unwind and enjoy the scenery from the comfort of the ship.
As the day ends, the boat will anchor at a picturesque spot—don't miss the stunning sunset before dinner. Spend the night on board, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the bay.
Note: In the event of bad weather, itineraries may be modified or cancelled if boats are unable to depart. Your travel consultant will provide alternative arrangements if necessary.
Day 4
Transfer to Hue
As dawn breaks over Halong Bay, we enjoy breakfast as our vessel gently makes its way back to the port. A leisurely early lunch follows before we arrive and disembark. You'll then be transferred to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Hue. Upon landing, a driver will meet you and take you to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is yours to explore or relax at your own pace.
Day 5
Discover Hue
Hue, once Vietnam's imperial capital, still exudes royal charm, offering a blend of cultural and historical treasures. Join us for a day of exploration, starting with a meeting in your hotel lobby between 8:00-8:30 am (we will confirm the exact time the day prior). We begin our journey with a relaxing dragon boat cruise down the Perfume River, where you can enjoy the refreshing breeze.
Our first stop is Thien Mu Pagoda, a significant 17th-century landmark known for its striking architecture. Next, we visit the Hue Imperial Citadel, the former residence of Vietnam’s last royal family. Here, you can explore the Royal Antiques Museum, which houses a fascinating collection of Nguyen Dynasty artefacts.
Following this, we proceed to Dong Ba Market, Hue's busiest marketplace, teeming with a variety of foods and goods. You can enjoy browsing and shop for souvenirs before sampling local delicacies for lunch.
In the afternoon, we venture out of town to visit the Tomb of Khai Dinh, noted for its harmonious blend of Western and Eastern architectural styles. We then continue to the majestic Tomb of Minh Mang, beautifully integrated into its natural setting, offering a peaceful atmosphere for reflection.
Finally, enjoy brief stops at a traditional Conical Hat Village and an incense stick-making village, where you can observe these crafts. We return to your hotel around 16:00-17:00.
Day 6
Journey to Hoi An via Hai Van Pass
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we begin our private car journey from Hue to Hoi An. En route, we will traverse the renowned Hai Van Pass, celebrated for its breathtaking views of mountains and sea. Upon arrival in Hoi An, check into your hotel and take advantage of some leisure time to explore the charming surroundings at your own pace.
Day 7
Hoi An at Leisure
Enjoy a leisurely day discovering Hoi An at your own pace. We suggest renting a bicycle from the hotel; it's an excellent way to navigate this historic town. Cycle down to the riverside or head towards the beach, where you can unwind with a refreshing fruit drink at one of the quaint cafes after a swim in the warm, calm sea.
Consider visiting the local tailor shops—they can craft custom clothing, bags, or shoes for you or your loved ones in just 24 hours. In the evening, explore the Old Town, where the illuminated lanterns create a fairy-tale-like atmosphere. Don't miss the lively street performances that bring the town to life at night.
Day 8
Travel to Ho Chi Minh City
Enjoy your final moments in Hoi An before your private driver takes you to Da Nang Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, your driver will meet you and transport you to your centrally located accommodation. The remainder of the day is yours to explore as you wish.
Day 9
Explore Cu Chi Tunnels
Today, we explore the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive underground network spanning over 220 km. This critical site offers deep insights into the Vietnam War and illustrates the Vietnamese resistance against US forces. Situated approximately 60 km from Ho Chi Minh City, these tunnels have earned their place as a symbol of tenacity and ingenuity.
As we journey there, relish the picturesque landscape featuring expansive rice fields and rivers populated by ducks and water buffalo. It's astounding to consider that this now-tranquil area was once ravaged by war as a "free target zone."
Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to navigate some of the tunnels and envision the challenging conditions faced by the resistance soldiers. If you wish, there’s a chance to cook using the smokeless stoves the soldiers employed and sample wartime foods. For the adventurous, you might even try firing an AK-47, the iconic rifle from the conflict.
We will return to Ho Chi Minh City by round 2:30 pm.
Day 10
Mekong Delta Experience
We begin our journey by leaving the vibrant streets of Ho Chi Minh City and heading towards My Tho, located on the left bank of the Mekong River. Our first stop is the Vinh Trang Pagoda, a historic site from the late 19th century.
Next, we board a sampan to cruise the river, exploring the scenic Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise Islands. On Unicorn Island, you’ll stroll along country lanes, visit orchards, and savour tropical fruits while local musicians perform traditional folk songs. We'll also visit a fruit plantation.
Our trip continues with a leisurely hand-rowed sampan ride through the Thoi Son canal, where you can soak up the serene countryside views. We'll visit a local family business, explore a honey-bee farm, enjoy honey tea, and see a coconut candy workshop. A lunch at a local restaurant follows.
In the afternoon, we'll cycle around Tan Thach village, offering a chance to mingle with the local villagers and experience life in the Mekong Delta. If cycling isn't for you, simply relax in a hammock and enjoy the cool breeze.
Day 11
Farewell Ho Chi Minh City
On the final day of your journey through Vietnam, begin with a nutritious breakfast. After checking out from the hotel, you have the opportunity to explore local markets for last-minute souvenirs. Later, your private driver will take you to the airport for your flight home.
