Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Zagreb
Your tour begins with a transfer to the tour accommodation, whether you're arriving at Zagreb Airport or coming from another accommodation in Zagreb. The rest of the day is yours to spend freely - perhaps a wander through the city center or a relaxed coffee at a local cafe before the tour gets underway.
Please note: this tour may be operated bilingually in English and French, with two guides for city sightseeing, one speaking English and the other speaking French.
Day 2
Exploring Zagreb & Journey to Slovenia
Zagreb (Croatia) - Ljubljana (Slovenia). This morning, we explore Zagreb, Croatia's capital, taking in the fortified Upper Town and the city's historic center. Our sightseeing takes in St Mark's Church with its multicoloured roof, the Cathedral, the Croatian National Theatre and the University quarter.
We then travel on to Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital, where our guide leads an afternoon tour of the old center. Sights include the picturesque open-air Central Market, the Three Bridges, the Baroque Town Hall and Robba's Fountain. Overnight in the Ljubljana area.
Day 3
Discovering Bled & Journey back to Croatia
Ljubljana - Bled (Slovenia) - Plitvice Lakes (Croatia). After breakfast, we travel to Bled, a small town in the Julian Alps regarded as one of the most beautiful alpine resorts. Surrounded by mountains and forests, its emerald glacial lake creates a fairy-tale setting. We visit Bled Castle, the oldest castle in Slovenia, before continuing our journey to the Plitvice Lakes area.
This evening, we settle in for dinner together as the day winds down, with an overnight in the Plitvice Lakes area.
Day 4
Plitvice Lakes walking tour & exploring Split
Plitvice Lakes - Split. This morning, we take a walk around Plitvice Lakes, the UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its 16 crystal-blue lakes cascading into 92 waterfalls. From here, we travel on to Split.
In the afternoon, our guide reveals the secrets of Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO-protected site, together with its ancient cellars. Modified by generations of inhabitants through the Middle Ages, the palace remains the living heart of the city today. We enjoy dinner this evening at a local restaurant, with an overnight stay in the Split area.
Day 5
Oyster Farm Cruise, STon & Journey to Dubrovnik
Split - Hodilje - Ston - Dubrovnik. Today, we depart towards Dubrovnik. Arriving on the Peljesac Peninsula, we board a small boat from Hodilje to visit a mussel and oyster farm, discovering the flavours of the sea firsthand.
We continue to a hidden, forest-fringed stretch of the peninsula, where our host prepares a fresh seafood feast in a charming summer kitchen. We enjoy lunch beneath the pines, with birdsong and the gentle sound of the waves for company.
Afterwards, you have free time to explore the beautiful little town of Ston. We then visit one of the Peljesac Peninsula's wine cellars, where a glass of the region's signature red wine, Plavac Mali, rounds off the day. We round off the evening with dinner together, with overnight in the Dubrovnik area.
Day 6
Discovering Dubrovnik
After breakfast, we take a city tour of Dubrovnik, the UNESCO-protected "Pearl of the Adriatic", including its Cathedral. We step back in time through the streets of the once-famous maritime Republic, admiring noble palaces, fountains and the historic city walls, and taking in the marble streets, baroque buildings and the shimmer of the Adriatic beyond.
The afternoon is free - a good chance to relax at a cafe by the harbour or take the cable car up Srdj hill for panoramic views over the old town. This evening, we come together for a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.
