Victoria Falls, Chobe & Hwange - 8 Days

Welcome to Victoria Falls, southern Africa's adventure capital. At the airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. This afternoon, relax on a sunset cruise along the mighty Zambezi River. Enjoy snacks and a drink or two as you wind down the river.

Tour Style: This tour can depart any day and is made up of a selection of excursions and activities, with transportation and accommodation. You will have different local guides for each excursion. All excursions and transfers are on a shared basis, meaning you will be joined by other travellers.

Today is all about Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. First, enjoy a 12-13 minute helicopter ride over the falls and along the Zambezi, for a birds-eye view of “Mosi oa Tunya” (the smoke that thunders). Then visit the falls on foot, escorted by a knowledgeable local guide who can tell you more about this incredible waterfall. And there's a Historical Bridge tour to Victoria Falls Bridge, which is almost as famous as the falls themselves and boasts amazing views of the falls, rapids and Batoka Gorge.

After breakfast this morning travel across the border into Botswana to spend the day exploring Chobe National Park.

Botswana's premier national park is home to all of the famous Big Five and much more wildlife besides. In the morning enjoy a game viewing cruise on the Chobe River, which famously switches its direction of flow in the wet season, from east to west. Then embark on an afternoon game drive through the park in search of more wildlife, before returning to Victoria Falls for the evening.

This morning take a scheduled transfer from Victoria Falls town to Hwange Safari Lodge at 09.30 am. The journey takes approximately 3.5 hours. Hwange Safari Lodge is situated just outside the borders of Hwange National Park, and essentially forms part of the park. On arrival at the lodge, complete check-in procedures before enjoying lunch (time permitting), followed by an afternoon game drive and dinner at the lodge.

Hwange is Zimbabwe’s largest national park and one of Africa’s leading wildlife areas, known for its large herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra, as well as a high concentration of giraffe. The park is also home to predators, endangered species and varied birdlife, with fewer visitors allowing for a quieter safari experience.

Spend the next two days exploring Hwange National Park. Enjoy one included 3-hour game drive each day and choose from a range of optional activities available to book and pay for at the lodge.

Hwange Safari Lodge offers a range of activities to fill your time. Join a day or night game drive in an open vehicle to spot the area's rich wildlife, or venture into the local community with a village tour and visit to the Inganyana Crafts Centre. The Painted Dog Rehabilitation and Conservation Centre is well worth a stop — with luck, you may even encounter wild dogs on site. Alternatively, simply settle in at the lodge and watch game gather at the waterhole from the viewing platform.

After breakfast and a relaxed morning, take the scheduled transfer from Hwange Safari Lodge back to Victoria Falls town at 12.30. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy one final night in Africa's adventure capital.

After breakfast and checkout, transfer to Victoria Falls International Airport in time for your onward flight.
