Summary
The world’s largest waterfall deserves more than a flying visit. Soak up the spray of Victoria Falls – also known as Mosi-Oa-Tunya or ‘The Smoke That Thunders’ – and check out some of the adventure activities in the local area, like zip-lining, whitewater rafting and canoeing. Learn about the history of this natural wonder from a local guide (so wonderful that it’s been named one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World). Fill your four days by zipping or soaring over the falls or relax instead – it's up to you.
Itinerary
Day 1
Victoria Falls
Mhoro! Welcome to Zimbabwe. Jump in your airport transfer from Victoria Falls Airport to your home for the next three nights. There are no activities planned today so you’re free to explore on your own. Victoria Falls is the town on the Zimbabwean side of the falls, with spectacular views and a reputation as the adventure capital of Zimbabwe. Maybe head out and find a restaurant serving Muboora (a traditional stew with pumpkin leaves) or Zimbabwe’s national dish sadza (a thick porridge made from maize meal).
Day 2
Victoria Falls
Get up close to the world’s largest waterfall with a local guide. The Victoria Falls are an enormous curtain of water, about a mile wide, falling 108 m into a narrow gorge below. In the wet season, the spray created can rise an incredible 400 m and the falls are an impressive raging torrent. The spray from the falls can sometimes be seen from kilometres away. In the dry season, the view of the falls is unobstructed by spray and it's possible to see little islets in the river below. This afternoon, head to a local centre with your guide, where you can book whatever activities take your fancy.
Day 3
Victoria Falls
Today you’re free to design your day at Victoria Falls as you wish. Maybe swing along the shore of the falls or take in the scenery while zipping across the gorge. If you prefer your activities a little less adrenaline pumping, why not cruise along the Zambezi River at sunset? There are plenty of options and you can do as much or as little as you want. If you’d like to soar over the falls in an optional helicopter ride, book one through your local guide with Zambezi Helicopter co CAA Zimbabwe.
Day 4
Victoria Falls
There are no activities planned for today and you can depart the accommodation at any time. If you wish to spend more time here, just speak to your booking agent.

Customer reviews & ratings
I first time ever booking with Intrepid and would never do it again. Booked as two women traveling in Zimbabwe and got little to no information and it was so unorganised. I had to constantly email and msg through the website for information. Had booked the accommodation through intrepid and had a tour of the Vic Falls as part of the intinery. Hadn't received the details for meeting place or time for the tour until I emailed and msg'd many times. Got told the NIGHT BEFORE it'd be 10am from the hotel lobby. Wait in the lobby for 30mins until 10:20am, nobody turns up. I talk to the hotel reception, they said oh we have it as 8:50am from Intrepid at a different hotel?? The hotel calls intrepid and we wait around in the lobby until 11am. Thankfully for the hotel they were able to pull a last minute tour together for us. Didn't end up meeting any guides or other travellers through intrepid. Was never contacted by a local guide from intrepid or the local contact. Felt so lost and unsettled in a foreign country. Would not recommend, may as well have booked everything ourselves. Very disappointing.
