Train travel in Vietnam is basic, with 4-berth soft sleeper compartments which may be mixed gender. During public holidays in Thailand, alternative transport may be arranged if train space is limited.
  • How large is the tour group typically?

The maximum group size for this tour is 24 participants.
  • What are the age requirements to join this trip?

The minimum age to join this trip is 18 years, and the maximum age is 35 years.
  • Are international and local flights included in the tour?

International flights are generally not included. However, an internal flight between Chiang Mai and Hanoi is included as part of the tour. Please be aware of a checked bag weight restriction of 20 kg (44lbs) for internal flights, with additional charges for excess weight or bags being the passenger's responsibility.
  • What is the policy for solo travellers?

Solo travellers do not have to pay more as our group trips are designed for shared accommodation. Single travellers are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip.
  • What are the health and safety considerations for this tour?

It is your responsibility to consult with your travel doctor for up-to-date medical travel information and required inoculations well before departure. We recommend carrying a first-aid kit, hand sanitizers, and any personal medical requirements. Your CEO cannot administer drugs. We advise securing valuables in a neck wallet or money belt and using hotel safety deposit boxes. Petty theft, especially bag snatching by motorbikes, can occur in Vietnamese towns; carry only necessary cash for the day. Water-based activities are at your own risk unless accompanied by a guide. Illegal drugs are not tolerated, and exploiting people in the sex trade is against our philosophy.
  • What is the recommended dress code to respect local customs?

In Asia, the dress standard is more conservative. We recommend packing loose, lightweight, long clothing suitable for hot and humid climates. When visiting villages, temples, mosques, or other holy sites in predominately Buddhist, Hindu, and Muslim countries, please dress respectfully, avoiding very short shorts/skirts and singlets/tank-tops.
  • What should I know about currency, credit cards, and tipping?

The local currencies used are the US Dollar, Cambodian Riel, and Thai Baht. Debit cards are the best way to carry money, using ATMs for local currency withdrawals. USD cash is recommended for emergencies but avoid carrying only cash due to safety risks. Credit cards are accepted at some upscale establishments. When bringing USD notes, ensure they are new and in good condition (newer than 2003, no tears/blemishes). Tipping service providers like waiters (approx. 10%) and local guides/drivers ($1.5-$3.5 USD per person per day) is customary. Tipping your CEO ($20-25 USD per person, per week guideline) is also appreciated.
  • What are the visa and entry requirements for Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia?

All countries require a valid passport with at least 6 months validity. Visa requirements vary by nationality. For Thailand, most nationalities don't need a visa for stays under 30 days (available on arrival by air); overland entry typically grants a 15-day visa. All non-Thai nationals must complete the Thailand E-Arrival form online at least 3 days before arrival (effective May 1, 2025). For Vietnam, visas must be arranged ahead of time (minimum 2 weeks processing) as they are not available on arrival; Vietnamese E-Visas are available online. For Cambodia, visas can be obtained in advance, on arrival in Bangkok (if starting in Thailand, requires one full working day), or at the Cambodian border/Siem Reap Airport (approx. $30 USD, requires at least 2 passport photos). An e-Arrival form for Cambodia is also required if arriving by air (complete within 7 days of arrival).
  • Who will be leading the tour group?

All our group trips are accompanied by a Chief Experience Officer (CEO) who handles travel logistics, provides information, suggests activities, and introduces local experiences. We also utilize local guides for specific knowledge to enhance your enjoyment of the places visited.
