Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Hanoi
Your Indochina adventure kicks off as you arrive in Hanoi. Our private driver will meet you at the airport, holding a sign with your name, and escort you to your accommodation in the vibrant city centre. With the captivating Old Quarter just steps away, you have the freedom to explore at your leisure or unwind at the hotel after your journey.
Day 2
Ba Vi Countryside Eco Tour
We will pick you up from your hotel or residence in a private car with your guide. Arrive at Ri Village, where your journey begins at the home of your host with a welcome drink. Meet Mr Duoc, a Vietnam War veteran and tea-farm owner, as he shares historical anecdotes from his life.
Accompany Mr Duoc to his extensive tea farm to learn about tea leaf harvesting. This serene setting offers picturesque village views. Participate in picking tea leaves and learn the art of selecting the finest parts to produce Vietnam’s traditional tea. You'll observe the tea production process at his small workshop, where most tasks are completed manually.
A short ten-minute drive takes you to another host family in Moc Village. Here, Mrs Chin will guide you through a lively cooking class where you’ll prepare and then savour a Vietnamese lunch that you've helped create. Enjoy a leisurely walk around the village, visiting local families to experience rural life and discover how tofu, conical hats, and other products are crafted.
Embark on a cycling trip through scenic paddy fields, with a chance to interact with local farmers. Conclude your countryside experience with a warm herbal foot soak, following Muong ethnic minority traditions—a perfect way to soothe your feet after the ride.
Day 3
Explore Ninh Binh & Tam Coc
Our tour guide will collect you from your hotel as we set off for Ninh Binh province, located roughly 120 km from Hanoi. We will pause for a 20-minute break to relax.
Our journey's first stop is Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam. Here, you will uncover the reasons behind the capital's relocation to Hanoi. Admire the remarkable architecture of the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the nation's first and second emperors, which date back to the 17th century. Immerse yourself in the historical ambiance of this significant site.
Enjoy a buffet lunch featuring a variety of local dishes such as goat meat and fried rice. Vegetarian options are also available.
We will then embark on a 90-minute bamboo boat ride through Tam Coc. As you glide along, take in the picturesque landscape of rice paddies, rivers, and stunning caves, often referred to as "Halong Bay on land."
Continue with a 45-minute cycle tour around the village to explore local life and scenery. Return to our shuttle bus for the journey back to Hanoi. Conclude your memorable day with the Hoa Lu - Tam Coc day trip as you are dropped off at your hotel in Hanoi.
Day 4
Halong Bay Overnight Cruise
Start your day with breakfast before checking out of your Hanoi hotel, as we head to the stunning Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its striking beauty. Our cruise team will meet you in the hotel lobby between 8:00 and 9:00 am (exact time will be confirmed a day prior). By midday, we arrive at the jetty to board the cruise.
Once aboard and after settling in, enjoy a welcome lunch as our cruise navigates through the picturesque islets. The afternoon is yours to explore – partake in activities such as swimming or kayaking, perhaps explore fascinating caves, or simply relax on deck.
As the day draws to a close, the boat will anchor for the night in a scenic spot, offering a perfect vantage point for a breathtaking sunset before dinner is served. We will spend the night on the cruise, enjoying full board meals.
Please note: In the event of adverse weather conditions, the itinerary may be subject to change or cancellation, with your travel consultant arranging alternative plans.

Day 6
Free Time in Hanoi & Transfer to Siem Reap
Enjoy your final moments in Hanoi before our private driver takes you to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, another driver will greet you and take you to your accommodation. You have the remainder of the day to explore at your leisure.
Please note: On some days, flights from Hanoi to Siem Reap may include a stopover in Ho Chi Minh City or Da Nang.
Day 7
Angkor Temple Exploration
Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel before setting off to explore the renowned Angkor complex. Our journey starts at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, a well-preserved 12th-century Buddhist gateway. We then visit Bayon Temple, The Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, and the Terraces of the Elephants and the Leper King. Next, we explore Ta Prohm, celebrated for the trees interwoven with its ruins.
After lunch, you can explore the Hindu temples of Thommanon, Chaosay Tevoda, and Ta Keo, known for their well-preserved condition and built around the same time as Angkor Wat. The day's highlight is Angkor Wat itself, recognised as one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. Its stunning architecture includes the world's longest bas-relief, depicting Hindu mythology along its outer gallery.
Conclude your day by ascending Bakheng Hill to witness the sunset. As the first temple constructed in the Angkor area, Bakheng offers magnificent views over Tonle Sap and Angkor Wat.
