Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Welcome to Bangkok

Arrive in Bangkok and enjoy a hassle-free airport transfer straight to your hotel. Take some time to settle in, freshen up, and meet the rest of the group before heading out for a welcome dinner — the perfect way to break the ice and kick off the trip. Later, dive into Bangkok’s vibrant nightlife, from rooftop bars to hidden local spots, as your first night in Thailand sets the scene for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 3

    Bangkok to Phuket

Leave the fast-paced streets of Bangkok behind as you fly south to Phuket and ease into island life. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere changes — think warm ocean air, swaying palms, and laid-back beach vibes. Spend the afternoon however you like, whether that’s relaxing by the water, swimming, or checking out local food spots. In the evening, head out with the group for optional drinks and a night exploring Patong’s famous Bangla Road, packed with neon lights, music, and one of Thailand’s most iconic nightlife scenes.

  • Day 4

    Phuket to Koh Phi Phi

Journey across the Andaman Sea to Koh Phi Phi, one of Thailand’s most famous island destinations. After checking in, spend the afternoon exploring the lively beachside streets, sipping fresh fruit shakes, relaxing on the sand, or hiking up to the iconic Phi Phi Viewpoint for an unforgettable sunset. As night falls, the island comes alive with beach parties, fire shows, music, and dancing under the stars — the kind of energy that makes Phi Phi a true backpacker favourite.

  • Day 5

    Koh Phi Phi

Spend the day discovering Phi Phi’s stunning bays and towering limestone cliffs on a full-day island-hopping and snorkelling adventure. Swim in crystal-clear lagoons, float through the breathtaking Pi Leh Lagoon, spot monkeys at Monkey Bay, and relax on the white sands of Bamboo Island. With lunch included and plenty of time to swim, snorkel, and soak up the scenery, it’s easily one of the highlights of the trip. In the evening, enjoy some free time for dinner, beach bars, and Phi Phi’s vibrant nightlife.

  • Day 6

    Koh Phi Phi to Krabi

Say goodbye to Phi Phi as you make your way back to the mainland and into the beautiful region of Krabi. Settle into Ao Nang, a laid-back beach town known for its scenic coastline, great food, and relaxed atmosphere. Spend the afternoon however you like — unwind on the beach, enjoy a Thai massage, or dive into the local street food scene. In the evening, choose to relax or head out with the group for another fun night together.

  • Day 7

    Krabi

Explore one of the area’s most breathtaking destinations — Hong Island. Cruise across crystal-clear turquoise waters, snorkel alongside vibrant marine life, and hike up to the island’s stunning viewpoint for incredible panoramic views. Whether you spend the day relaxing on the beach or discovering hidden lagoons and coves, it’s easily one of the most scenic and unforgettable days of the trip.

  • Day 8

    Krabi to Khao Sok Lake

This marks the end of the 8-day trip, but for those continuing on, the adventure takes a turn into the heart of the jungle. Journey to the breathtaking Khao Sok Lake, a peaceful escape surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and lush rainforest. After lunch at Smiley Lake House, spend the afternoon kayaking, swimming, or simply unwinding from your floating bungalow. Dinner is included, and the evening is all about embracing the tranquillity of this incredible setting — a world away from the buzz of the islands.

  • Day 9

Khao Sok Lake to Koh Samui

Begin the day with an early morning lake safari, gliding across the water as mist lifts and the local wildlife comes to life. After breakfast, continue your journey east toward Koh Samui, passing through lush countryside before crossing the Gulf of Thailand. Once you arrive, check into your accommodation and enjoy a free evening at your own pace. Chaweng, the island’s nightlife hub, offers plenty of beach bars, music, and a lively atmosphere to explore.

  • Day 10

    Koh Samui

Set off for the breathtaking Ang Thong Marine Park for a full-day island adventure. Paddle through hidden coves, snorkel among tropical fish, hike up to panoramic viewpoints, and unwind on secluded beaches. One of Thailand’s most spectacular natural wonders, this day is a true highlight of the trip. Lunch is included, and you’ll return in the evening ready for a relaxed night back at your accommodation.

  • Day 11

    Koh Samui

Enjoy a completely free day to spend exactly how you choose. Unwind on the beach, chase waterfalls, join an optional activity, explore Fisherman’s Village, or treat yourself to a traditional Thai massage. Koh Samui offers the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure, giving you the chance to recharge, explore, or dive deeper into island life at your own pace.

Frequently asked questions

  • When is the best time to travel to Thailand

The best time to visit is between November and early April as these are the most and dry and warm months but Thailand is a great country to visit all year round! As the country is so vast different weather systems spread out across the region. So if you're visiting at a certain time of the year and the weather is due to be hot and dry in Bangkok, you may experience a little rain in the southern islands. Not to worry though, if rain does occur it usually does not last very long and can be a relief from the heat!
  • What style of accommodation will I be staying in?

You'll spend 14 nights in comfortable hotels with a local feel.
  • Where does the trip start and end

This tour starts in Bangkok and ends on the Koh Koh Tao- our team can help you organise return Bangkok transportation if you would like. There is also the option to extend your stay in Koh Tao too.
  • Who will I be travelling with?

Whether you’re travelling solo or with a mate, you’ll meet like-minded travellers from all over the world on this Thailand Group tour. Group sizes vary with each tour however we like to keep things fun yet personal so you’ll be travelling with no more than 30 others.
  • Do I need vaccinations?

We recommend making an appointment with your GP to discuss which vaccinations will be needed for your trip. If you have travelled outside of Europe recently then you are very likely up to date but it is essential to check with your own doctor in relation to your personal vaccination history. We recommend organising all vaccines at least 4-6 weeks before your trip to Thailand.
  • Can I book extra nights?

    Of course! Just ask.
  • Do I need a visa?

In some cases, yes, and the process is very easy! Recently it has been even more important to check entry requirements for your own nationality regularly as these have been changing. Uk citizens can find this information here - https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/thailand/entry-requirements Citizens of 41 different nationalities, including Australia, NZ, UK, USA and most of Europe, can normally enter Thailand without a pre-arranged visa. This ‘visa exemption’ allows you to stay 30 days when entering Thailand by air, and 15 days when crossing into Thailand by land. It's worth noting that without proof of an onward ticket and sufficient funds for your expected stay any visitor can be denied entry.
  • What happens if my flight is delayed?

If your flight arrival information changes, please let us know as soon as can so that we can rearrange your airport transfer. You can give us a call or email us with the updated date, time and flight number. If your flight is delayed, please find the relevant contact number to call on your Welcome Booklet to adjust your pick up time.
  • Can anyone book this trip?

Ultimate Thailand is aimed towards travellers aged between 18 to 35 years old looking to experience the best of Bangkok and Southern Thailand in a guided tour.
  • Are arrival transfers included?

Yes! Just make sure you let us know your flight arrival date, time and flight number at least 14 days before your tour is due to start. Two weeks before your tour we will send you an email with detailed information about your arrival in Thailand, airport transfer, accommodation and where to meet your group.
  • How can I get money out in Thailand and how much will I need?

The local currency in Thailand is Thai Baht (THB). The amount of money you should bring will depend upon the total length of your holiday and your spending habits. It’s very easy to get by in Thailand for $300 - $600 a week. This will cover your food, souvenirs and fun! However, try and budget for the higher end of this – it’s a once in a lifetime trip, so make the most of it! We recommend bringing a debit card / travel money card with you with so you can withdraw cash as you go. ATMs are available throughout Thailand. Alternatively, you can bring local currency to exchange when you arrive - your group leader can help you find somewhere, no problem. Try to only get out enough to cover you a few days at a time so you're not carrying around lots of cash.
