Summary
Spend seven memorable days exploring Portugal on a round-trip journey beginning and ending in Lisbon. Enjoy time in the capital discovering Belem’s UNESCO-listed Jeronimos Monastery, pastel de Belem tastings and panoramic viewpoints before heading north through medieval Obidos, the coastal charms of Nazare and the impressive Batalha Monastery. Continue on to Fatima, Aveiro’s canal-lined centre and Porto’s riverside districts, with plenty of leisure time to sample local food and wine. Along the way, expect beautiful scenery, historic towns and a relaxed pace before returning to Lisbon for your flight home.

Day 1
Arrival in Lisbon
Welcome to Lisbon. On arrival, make your way to the hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 2
Discovering Lisbon
After breakfast, we begin a sightseeing tour of Lisbon. We first explore Belém, home to the 16th-century Jerónimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We also visit the historic Belém pastry factory, founded in 1837, to taste the famous pastéis de Belém. We stop at Belém Tower for photos before returning to the hotel.
The afternoon is free for you to explore the city. We recommend visiting Sintra, one of Portugal’s most romantic towns and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You might like to stop at the Piriquita bakery in the centre to sample its well-known travesseiros and queijadas.

Half-day tour to Sintra, Cascais and the Estoril Coast Meet your guide in central Lisbon and enjoy a half-day visit to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril. Travel through Sintra-Cascais Natural Park to the Sintra National Palace, renowned for its striking architecture and royal history. Continue to Cabo da Roca (April to October, weather permitting) for sweeping views over the Atlantic before following the coastline past beaches and clifftops, including the dramatic Boca do Inferno.
Boat Tour in Lisbon with Drinks and Snacks (2 hours) Join a sailing tour on the Tagus River. After meeting the crew at the harbour, relax on board with a glass of sparkling wine and light snacks as you admire Lisbon’s skyline from the water.
Live Fado Show in Chiado (1 hour) Experience an authentic Fado performance in Lisbon’s Chiado district. Enjoy the voices of a male and female singer accompanied by two guitarists, evoking the emotion and soul of this UNESCO-recognised musical tradition.
Lisbon 7 Hills Electric Bike Tour (2 hours) Explore Lisbon’s historic neighbourhoods, including Alfama and Graça, using electric bicycles that make climbing the city’s steep hills effortless. Ride to viewpoints such as Castelo de São Jorge and Miradouro Senhora de Monte.
Portuguese Food and Wine Tour (3 hours) Savour traditional Portuguese flavours on a guided food and wine walk. Sample local cheeses, chouriço, bifana, regional rice dishes and Port wine. Learn about Portugal’s culinary traditions while discovering Lisbon's best food spots.
Half-day Sintra, Cascais and Estoril Coast Tour with Hotel Transfers A similar itinerary to the standard half-day Sintra tour, but with hotel pick-up and drop-off included.
Boat Tour with Hotel Transfers (2 hours) A sailing tour on the Tagus River with a glass of sparkling wine and snacks, including hotel pick-up and drop-off.
Live Fado Show with Hotel Transfers Enjoy a one-hour Fado performance in Chiado with hotel pick-up and drop-off included.

Day 3
Lisbon to Fatima via Obidos, Nazare and Batalha
Lisbon - Obidos - Nazare - Batalha - Fatima. After breakfast, we drive north with our first stop in Óbidos, a charming medieval walled town known for its narrow streets, whitewashed houses and hilltop castle. We continue to Nazaré, a traditional fishing village famed for its giant Atlantic waves. Our next stop is Batalha, where we visit the impressive Santa Maria Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before travelling onward to Fátima.
Day 4
Fatima, Aveiro and Arrival in Porto
Fatima - Aveiro - Porto. This morning we visit Fátima, one of the most significant pilgrimage sites in the world. You may explore the sanctuary area independently and visit Aljustrel, the birthplace of the three shepherd children who saw the apparitions in 1917.
We then continue to Aveiro, often called the “Venice of Portugal”. You will have free time to walk along its canals, perhaps take a Moliceiro boat tour, or try the local ovos moles pastry.
We then continue to Porto and check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 5
Exploring Porto
We begin our day with a sightseeing tour of Porto, a city set along the Douro River and known for its historic centre, vibrant culture and rich wine-making heritage. In the afternoon, you are free to explore at your own pace. Wander through the Ribeira district, browse the city’s markets, visit a Port wine cellar, or enjoy a walk through the peaceful gardens of Palácio de Cristal. You may also choose from the optional tours below.
Tuk Tuk Tour and Six Bridges Boat Ride (1.5 hours) Explore Porto’s streets by Tuk Tuk before enjoying a scenic boat ride along the Douro River, with views of the city’s iconic bridges and insights into its winemaking history.
Walking Food Tour (3.5 hours) Discover Porto’s culinary culture on a private food tour that includes ten tastings. Visit traditional shops, local eateries and the temporary Bolhão Market, sampling a range of regional flavours and wines.
Visit to a Wine Cellar and Wine Tasting Learn about the history of Port wine during a guided visit to one of Porto’s traditional wine cellars, followed by a tasting.
Wine Cellar Visit, Wine Tasting and Fado Show Enjoy an interactive museum experience, a guided tour of historic cellars and a premium wine tasting, followed by a 45-minute Fado performance.
Tiles Painting Workshop (2 hours) Create your own hand-painted tile during a workshop using traditional Portuguese techniques. Your finished piece will be ready for collection two hours after the session.
Tuk Tuk Tour and Six Bridges Boat Ride with Hotel Transfers A similar experience to the standard Tuk Tuk and Six Bridges tour, with hotel pick-up and drop-off included.

Day 6
Porto to Lisbon via Coimbra
Porto - Coimbra - Lisbon. After breakfast, we drive to Coimbra, a riverside city known for its historic university, one of the oldest in Europe. You may visit the university independently, including its remarkable library, once the residence of Portuguese kings and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy free time in the city before we continue to Lisbon.
Day 7
Departure from Lisbon
After breakfast, make your way to Lisbon International Airport for your onward flight.
