  You will be staying in hotels for 7 nights. Please be aware that the style, service, and cleanliness of hotels/guest houses in India can vary, and power cuts are a regular occurrence. It's advisable to lock your room door.

  Transportation includes walking, basic overnight trains, private vehicles, and local trains. Expect train travel to be an immersive experience with varied conditions and possible delays. Road travel may also differ from Western standards, with unpredictable traffic and road conditions.

  For our group trips, single travellers are paired in shared accommodation with someone of the same sex, so there is no single supplement. If you prefer your own room, the "My Own Room" option can be booked, providing a single room for all night stops.

• What is the recommended dress code for visiting sites in India?

  India is conservative, so it's essential to dress modestly. Shoulders and knees should be covered at all times. Wearing shorts is not permitted as it may restrict entry to religious buildings and family homes. Loose, lightweight, long clothing is ideal for the climate. A light water and windproof jacket and a hat are also useful.

• What currency should I use and what are the options for accessing money?

  The local currency is Indian Rupees (INR). While ATMs accepting Visa and Mastercard are available in major cities, carrying some USD cash is recommended. Most shops accept major credit cards, but a 2-4% transaction fee may apply.

• Are there opportunities to do laundry during the trip?

  Some hotels offer laundry facilities for a fee. We also suggest bringing non-polluting/biodegradable soap for times when you may need to do personal laundry.

  We advise using a neck wallet or money belt for valuables and leaving expensive jewelry at home. Utilize hotel safety deposit boxes and secure your luggage with a lock. During free time, exercise good judgment, travel in small groups, and consider taxis for night outings. Avoid protests. For water activities, always be with a guide, and swimming is at your own risk.

  Yes, travel insurance is compulsory. It must include a minimum of USD 200,000 for medical coverage, repatriation, and emergency rescue. We also recommend coverage for personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage.
