Itinerary
Day 1
Johannesburg
You made it to South Africa! Take some free time to explore the area and shake off the jetlag. In the evening, you'll meet rest of your group and head out together for a group dinner! It's going to be an amazing 11 days!
Day 2
Johannesburg/Hazyview
Morning! Today we're hitting the road for Greater Kruger! When we arrive in Hazyview we'll check into our amazing lodges and head straight out on our first safari drive! Keep your eyes peeled for the Big Five. In the evening we'll have a group dinner in the lodge, get ready to swap photos from the safari and reminise about this amazing afternoon.
Day 3
Hazyview/Kruger National Park
We're diving straight into a full safari day driving through the Kruger National Park. We'll spend the day exploring the park, learning about the amazing animals from our guide and hear all about the conservation work too! After a full day of hopefully seeing the Big Five we'll round off the day the South African way with a delicious traditional braai dinner.
Day 4
Kruger National Park/Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth)
Today we leave the bush behind and travel towards Gqeberha. After breakfast at the lodge, we'll head to OR Tambo Airport and board our flight south to Gqeberha. When we arrive in our hotel we'll do some exploring and then head out for dinner, you'll want to fuel up as tomorrow is an active one!
Day 5
Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth)/Knysna
Grab your wetsuit! Today we're chasing waves. We'll head out early to Jeffreys Bay, one of the most iconic surf spots on the planet, here we'll get suited up for a surf lesson. Whether you're a total beginner or a seasoned pro this is a morning you will never forget! After lunch we'll travel to Storms River for an afternoon exploring the famous suspension bridge, swaying high above the river gorge with some unreal views. From there, it's on to Knysna, where we'll be staying for the next couple of nights! Knysna is known for its incredible nature, wildlife and views, so we're in for a treat!
Day 6
Knysna
Lace up your boots, because today's all about earning the view. Straight after breakfast we're off on the "Secrets of Knysna" hike, weaving through indigenous forest and along the edge of the lagoon, with plenty of stops to take it all in. When we get back the rest of the afternoon is yours, explore the waterfront, browse the shops, or just find a spot to relax before regrouping for dinner in town.
Day 7
Knysna/Oudtshoorn
After breakfast, we're back on the road, this time heading for Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world! We'll head straight to the Cango Caves, one of the most spectacular cave systems on the continent, for a guided tour through the incredible and dramatic underground chambers carved out over millions of years.
Day 8
Oudtshoorn/Cape Town
Today's drive is one for the memory books. You'll head out via the scenic R62 to De Krans Wine Estate in Calitzdorp for wine tasting, before continuing on to Barrydale. From there, the road winds through the historic Tradouw Pass and past the small towns of Suurbraak and Swellendam. In the evening we'll arrive into Cape Town and check into our hotel. This city is amazing and we'll explore the world famous restuarant and bar scene this evening, we're in for a treat!
Day 9
Cape Town
Up, up and away - literally. This morning we'll ride the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, for sweeping views across Cape Town, the Atlantic coastline, and beyond. It's the kind of view that photos never quite do justice to, so take your time up there and soak it all in. The afternoon's free to explore the city at your own pace, there's buzzing markets, colourful streets, and plenty of spots for a coffee, the choice is yours!
Day 10
Cape Town
Today's a proper Cape Peninsula highlight reel. After breakfast, we'll head out for a full day exploring some of the most beautiful coastline in the world. First stop, the dramatic cliffs and boundless ocean views at Cape of Good Hope, before continuing to Cape Point Nature Reserve for time to explore at your own pace. Next up, Boulders Beach, where you'll to get up close with a colony of endangered African penguins waddling about in their natural habitat, it's one of the cutest things you'll ever see. Round out the afternoon at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, one of the most beautiful botanical gardens on Earth, with free time to wander among the fynbos before heading back to the hotel. It's our last night all together tonight so we'll head out for a farewell dinner, pack some tissues it's going to be emosh!
Day 11
Cape Town
And just like that, it's time to say goodbye. Enjoy one last morning at the hotel before heading off on our next adventure. We'll be taking home a phone full of photos, incredible new memories, and a group of best friends you'll be planning your next trip with in no time.
