Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Hanoi
Your adventure in Vietnam commences as you arrive in Hanoi. At the airport, our private driver will greet you with a sign displaying your name and take you to your centrally located accommodation. Situated in the vibrant Old Quarter, you'll be perfectly positioned to explore the bustling streets and rich culture at your leisure. Take the opportunity to unwind at the hotel or delve into the city's unique charm.
Day 2
Discover Hanoi
We will collect you from your hotel to begin our exploration of Hanoi.
Our first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you can view the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam's revered leader affectionately known as "Uncle Ho." Stroll through the gardens to see the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. We will also visit the unique One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy.
- Please dress modestly, covering shoulders to knees, when visiting the Mausoleum and religious sites.
- Note: The Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays, and from 15th June to 15th August for maintenance. However, photography of the exterior and the surrounding area is still permitted during closures.
Next, we head to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to explore the diverse cultures of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups.
*Special Note: On Mondays, we will instead visit the Vietnamese Women’s Museum.Enjoy lunch at our restaurant, where you can savour traditional Vietnamese cuisine, with vegetarian options available.
We visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, situated on the serene Golden Fish Island in West Lake and dating back to the 6th century. It is Hanoi’s oldest pagoda.
Our journey continues to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university established in 1070, one of Northern Vietnam's most cherished sites.
We then visit Hoa Lo Prison, built by the French between 1886 and 1901. Known as "Maison Centrale" during colonial times, it offers insights into Vietnam’s fight for independence and is now a poignant museum.
We will return you to your hotel, concluding our journey through Hanoi's rich history and culture.
Day 3
Visit Ninh Binh and Tam Coc & Return to Hanoi
Today we immerse ourselves in the rich history and breathtaking scenery of Vietnam as we journey to Ninh Binh. Our guide will collect us from the hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 am for our trip to this captivating province.
Our first stop is Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam. There, we explore the remarkable architecture of the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the nation's initial emperors.
Next, we head to Tam Coc wharf for a traditional Vietnamese lunch. Afterward, we'll board a rowing boat for a serene cruise along the river, navigating through impressive limestone caves.
Post-cruise, you'll have the opportunity to cycle around the tranquil village, passing through lush rice fields and taking in the charming surroundings.
Finally, we'll board the shuttle bus for our return to Hanoi, where you'll spend the night.
Day 4
Overnight Cruise on Halong Bay
In the morning, we will check out of the hotel and be collected by the Cruise team. Our journey to Halong Bay will take us along the scenic route through the Red River Delta, where expansive emerald rice paddies blanket the landscape. Upon reaching the pier, we will board the cruise, offering stunning views of limestone formations and karst grottoes.
Enjoy a delightful seafood lunch and spend the afternoon exploring the Bay from the sundeck. The cruise will anchor at a secluded spot, providing the perfect opportunity for kayaking or swimming up close to the karst formations.
In the evening, we'll return to the boat for an early dinner, followed by leisure time. You may choose to participate in onboard activities or simply relax. Overnight accommodation will be on the cruise.
Please note: In the event of adverse weather conditions, which may prevent the boat from setting sail or staying overnight at sea, the Ha Long Bay tour may be cancelled without prior notice. Alternative tours or refunds will be arranged based on the situation.
Day 5
Cruise Back to Hanoi & Journey to Ho Chi Minh City
Start your day with an early rise to witness the breathtaking sunrise, followed by breakfast in the dining room. We'll then explore a limestone cave, showcasing impressive stalagmites and stalactites. After our visit, we return to the boat to check out and enjoy brunch as we cruise back to the harbour.
Once ashore, you will be transferred to Hanoi for some relaxation. Our driver will later take you to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your accommodation in the city centre.
Day 6
Explore Mekong Delta
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a journey to the Mekong Delta. Our guide will meet you in the hotel lobby between 7:15 and 7:30 am, ready to head towards My Tho, situated on the Mekong River's left bank.
Upon arrival, we board a sampan to cruise around the picturesque Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise Islands. At Unicorn Island, you can stroll along country paths, explore local orchards, and visit fruit plantations. Here, enjoy tasting tropical fruits while listening to traditional folk music performed by local artists.
Next, we will glide through the Thoi Son canal on a hand-rowed sampan, admiring the serene countryside. We'll visit family-run workshops and a honey bee farm, where you can sample honey tea and coconut candies.
After a traditional Vietnamese lunch, we will cycle through Tan Thach village, offering a glimpse into daily life in the Mekong Delta. If cycling isn't for you, you may opt to relax in a hammock, enjoying the cool breeze.
We return to your accommodation in the late afternoon.
Day 7
Farewell Ho Chi Minh City
Enjoy a wholesome breakfast as you begin the final day of your journey through Vietnam. Once you've checked out of the hotel, you can explore the vibrant local markets and pick up souvenirs for friends and family. Later, a private driver will transport you to the airport for your flight home.
