Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Lombok!
Arrive at Lombok International Airport, where we’re warmly welcomed by our local guide. A scenic three-hour drive takes us across the island’s changing landscapes en route to our accommodation near Mount Bromo. Once checked in, there’s time to relax and soak in the surroundings before our island adventure begins.
Day 2
Lombok Adventure
Our journey begins with a drive through the lush Pusuk Pass, where we pause at a lookout 400 metres above sea level for panoramic views of the Gili Islands. Curious macaques often join the scene, so keep an eye on your belongings! Continuing along the northern coastline, we reach the striking Sendang Gile Waterfall, cascading 125 metres amidst tropical greenery - an idyllic spot for a picnic lunch. Later, we ascend to the highland valley of Sembalun, cradled by the mighty Mount Rinjani. Here, we explore the traditional Sasak villages of Lawang and Bumbung, where local customs and architecture offer an authentic glimpse of rural island life.
Day 3
Gilli and Pink Beach
We set off to the quiet eastern coast, beginning at Tanjung Luar Port - an active fishing hub where island life unfolds with colourful boats and busy market scenes. From here we sail to Gili Pasir, a tiny sandbank that appears only at low tide, followed by time on the serene shores of Gili Petelu and Gili Gambir - three unspoilt islets surrounded by turquoise waters and vibrant marine life. Arriving at Pantai Pink, we’re greeted by its rare blush-toned sands, formed by crushed coral mixing with the shore’s natural grains. After a picnic lunch, we visit peaceful Segui Beach, a hidden stretch of coastline that feels worlds away. We return to the mainland by boat and head back to our hotel.
Day 4
Discover Mataram
Today we delve into Lombok’s rich heritage, starting at the bustling traditional market - an energetic patchwork of fresh produce, fragrant spices and handmade wares. At Lingsar Temple, we witness a rare fusion of Balinese Hindu and Wetu Telu beliefs, set within emerald rice fields and flanked by sacred shrines. Legend says your wish may come true if you can flick a coin backwards into the holy spring. We continue to the Summer Palace, once a royal retreat, and stroll through its leafy gardens before visiting the Mayura Water Palace, known for its floating pavilion and tranquil lotus pond. At the Nusa Tenggara Museum, we gain deeper insight into the island’s cultural roots through artefacts and traditional displays. The day ends with a farewell dinner back at the hotel.
Day 5
Farewell
After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye. We transfer to Lombok Airport for our onward journey.
