Cross into Spain to experience Merida's Roman ruins, Seville’s vibrant culture, and Ronda’s whitewashed villages and dramatic gorge before ending in Costa del Sol.
Itinerary
Day 1
Costa del Sol to Granada & Alhambra
Costa del Sol – Granada. We depart from Costa del Sol (exact time to be confirmed) and journey to Granada. Upon arrival, we explore the stunning Alhambra and Generalife, former residences of the Moorish kings, renowned for their exquisite fountains, gardens, and arches. Later, we will enjoy dinner and check in at your accommodation. There is also the option to visit the Sacromonte caves to experience a traditional gypsy flamenco show.
Please note: This tour is bi-lingual and will be conducted in Spanish as well as English. If the Patronato of the Alhambra and Generalife cannot provide tickets for specific dates, participants will enjoy a guided tour of Granada instead, including the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, the Alcaiceria silk market, and Cathedral Square.

Day 2
Granada to Toledo & Madrid
Granada – Toledo – Madrid. Today, we depart for the historic Imperial City of Toledo, renowned for its rich history and monuments. We will enjoy lunch with panoramic views from Mirador del Valle, then stroll through the old town. Later, we will continue to Madrid, where we will check into our accommodation.
Day 3
Madrid to Salamanca & Vigo
Madrid – Salamanca – Vigo. This morning, we enjoy breakfast before departing for Salamanca, known for its prestigious university and elegant sandstone architecture. You have free time to stroll the beautiful Plaza Mayor, wander through cobbled streets, and admire the historic buildings that give the city its golden glow. We then continue our journey to Vigo, where we have dinner.
Day 4
Vigo to Viana do Castelo, Braja & Porto
Vigo (Spain) - Viana do Castelo (Portugal) - Braga - Porto. After breakfast, we cross the Portuguese border and reach Viana do Castelo, a city situated between the mouth of the River Mino and Porto. You will have free time to explore the old town, which features cobbled streets and ornate buildings.
After our journey takes us to Braga, known as the city of archbishops and the third most populous city in Portugal, you will also have free time to explore, grab a coffee at a cafe, or relax. We then depart for Porto, where we will stay overnight.
Day 5
Porto City Tour & Wine Tasting
Today, we will venture out to explore Porto, recognised as a World Heritage city. We will enjoy a panoramic tour that includes visits to the cathedral with its striking Romanesque facade, the elegant neoclassical Stock Exchange building, and St. Clara Church, known for its beautiful, gilded interior.
The tour will conclude at a local wine cellar, where we can savor a tasting of the renowned Port wine. You'll then have free time to further explore the city, grab a meal or relax.
Day 6
Porto to Coimbra
Porto - Coimbra. Today, we’ll depart from Porto and travel to Coimbra, home to one of Europe’s oldest universities and known as the birthplace of Portugal’s beloved Fado music, blending culture and tradition in a captivating way.
Here, we’ll enjoy lunch together, after which you’ll have the rest of the day free to explore at your own pace—whether that means wandering through the city’s charming streets, enjoying a coffee in a local café, or simply relaxing and taking in the atmosphere.
Day 7
Fatima & Lisbon
Coimbra - Fatima - Lisbon. This morning, we’ll depart for Fátima, an important pilgrimage destination that draws visitors worldwide. Upon arrival, you'll have free time to explore the Shrine, reflect, and soak in the spiritual atmosphere.
Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, beautifully situated at the mouth of the Tagus River. We’ll settle into our accommodation and get ready to experience the city's charms. Later in the evening, you can opt to join a night tour to enjoy a traditional Fado performance, showcasing Portugal’s beloved music.
Day 8
Lisbon City Tour
After breakfast, we embark on a city sightseeing tour including the historic Alfama Quarter with its winding streets and traditional houses, the iconic Tower of Belém overlooking the Tagus River, and the impressive Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture. We'll also take in panoramic views from Edward VII Park’s hilltop viewpoint, stroll through Rossio Square and Liberdade Avenue, and pass through the traditional Madragoa District, the birthplace of Fado music.
The afternoon is free for you to explore Lisbon at your own pace. You may also choose to join an optional excursion to Sintra, Estoril, or Cascais.
Day 9
Lisbon to Merida & Seville
Lisbon (Portugal) - Merida (Spain) - Seville. We’ll begin our day with breakfast before departing for the Spanish border and continuing to Merida. You’ll have free time to explore its UNESCO-listed Roman ruins, including an ancient amphitheatre. You will then have time to grab lunch before we continue our journey to Seville, where we will enjoy dinner.
Please note: If travelling prior to 27 March 2026, you will visit Caceres instead of Merida. All other arrangements remain the same.
Day 10
Seville City Tour
Today, we will embark on a morning sightseeing tour that includes visits to Maria Luisa Park, Plaza de Espana, and the exteriors of the stunning Cathedral and its bell tower, the Giralda. We'll also explore the charming Santa Cruz neighbourhood, known for its streets, squares, and narrow alleys.
After the tour, the rest of the day is at leisure in Seville. If you choose, there's an optional river cruise on the Guadalquivir, offering panoramic views of the Gold Tower and Expo 92, or you can visit the Maestranza bullring. In the evening, as an optional activity, you can attend a flamenco show.
Day 11
White Villages, Ronda & Costa del Sol
Seville - Ronda - Costa del Sol. After breakfast, we depart for the Route of the White Villages and Ronda. Admire the striking hilltop villages with whitewashed houses, set against rugged landscapes, and enjoy some free time to explore Ronda, famous for its dramatic El Tajo gorge and the historic Puente Nuevo bridge. We then continue on to Costa del Sol, which will mark the end of our tour. Safe travels!
Please note: On most departures, the tour ends in the Costa del Sol town of Torremolinos - the exact drop off point and time will be communicated to you.
