The rest of the day is free - the city is immediately energetic and rewards those who dive straight in, whether that's exploring District 1, browsing Ben Thanh Market, or finding a pavement cafe and watching it all go by.
Day 12
Discover Cu Chi Tunnels
Today, we'll embark on an insightful journey to the Cu Chi Tunnels, guided by an experienced English-speaking professional. The drive from Ho Chi Minh City to the tunnels, nestled in the surrounding countryside, takes approximately 90 minutes.
The Cu Chi Tunnels are an impressive network built by local residents during the Vietnam War. These underground passages, which extended all the way to Cambodia at their peak, housed meeting rooms, kitchens, and medical areas. Remarkably, they remained undetected from the surface, allowing opposing forces to roll tanks above without impacting the tunnels below.
Life within the tunnels was challenging; alongside warfare, inhabitants contended with food and oxygen shortages, venomous insects, and extremely cramped conditions. Our visit will provide a profound understanding of the Vietnamese people's resilience and determination during this protracted conflict.
After the tour, we’ll sample manioc - the staple diet of Cu Chi guerilla fighters during the war. For those interested, you have the option to test your skills with an AK47, MK16, or other machine guns at the nearby shooting range.
Day 13
Uncover Life on the Mekong
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before we set off for an adventure to the Mekong Delta. Our first stop is My Tho, situated on the left bank of the Mekong River.
We will board a sampan to cruise around the captivating Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise islands. Our journey includes a stop at Unicorn Island, where we'll stroll along the countryside lanes, explore orchards, and enjoy performances of traditional folk music by the locals. We'll also visit a fruit plantation.
Navigate the Thoi Son canal by hand-rowed sampan, absorbing the tranquil beauty of the countryside. During our visit to local family businesses, we will stop at a honey-bee farm to enjoy honey tea and witness a coconut candy workshop in action. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, followed by a brief rest.
In the afternoon, you have the option to cycle through Tan Thach village, engaging with local villagers and experiencing daily life in the Mekong Delta. Alternatively, you can relax in a hammock and enjoy the cool breeze if cycling isn't for you.
We will then return to Ho Chi Minh City, concluding our enriching day in the Mekong Delta.
Day 14
Travel to Mui Ne
After some free time in Ho Chi Minh City, your private transfer takes you along the coast to Mui Ne - Vietnam's relaxed beach escape. Check in to your resort and let the change of pace settle in.
The famous red and white sand dunes are worth a visit, particularly at sunset, and the fishing village nearby is an easy wander for fresh seafood and a look at local life.
Day 15

Day 16
Free Time in Mui Ne
Another unscheduled day on the coast. Whether you venture back to the sand dunes, try watersports, explore the fishing village further, or settle into the resort's rhythm - today is yours to use as you like.
