Itinerary
Day 1
Kathmandu/Chitwan National Park
Namaste! Welcome to Nepal. You'll depart Kathmandu after breakfast this morning, at approximately 8 am, travelling by Tourist Deluxe bus to Chitwan National Park, in the company of your Tour Leader. Of all the world's remaining jungles, this is one of the most enchanting. Discover a lost world of towering trees and twisting vines, looking out for the resident rhinos. There are also crocodiles, pythons, deer and brilliantly coloured birds that call this park home. Over the next three days, spend your evenings by the banks of the Rapti River in the small village of Sauraha on the edge of the park. On your first evening enjoy a Sundowner activity at the Rapri River bank (light snacks and drinks included). During the days, you’ll boat along the Rapti, which shelters around a quarter of the world's remaining gharial population. This fish-eating crocodile has been hunted in the past for the supposed aphrodisiac qualities of its snout. Take a guided jeep safari to look for wildlife, go on a bird-watching experience and spend some time in a local village. Cap the trip off with an evening performance of a traditional stick dance by the local Tharu people.

Customer reviews & ratings
This is not worth the money paid. Book local when you are in Nepal. Trips that are the same are a third of the price. Also the food supplied was not Nepali and the restaurant was plain odd. Intrepid can do a lot better!
Amy Dec, 2019 VerifiedThere’s no tour leader on this trip so there’s a risk you may be the only one on it (as was the case for me), but it wasn’t a problem. Accommodation was good, but outbound bus journey was gruelling. It’s a good itinerary but could easily be self organised.
