Naples & Pompeii Explorer (4 Star) - 4 Days

Upon arrival in Naples, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Once you have checked in, the rest of the day will be at your leisure to relax, take a stroll along the seafront promenade, explore the local neighbourhoods, or soak in the lively atmosphere of a nearby piazza.

Please note: Although this is a private tour, the included day trip to Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius on day 3 will be conducted as a group tour, shared with other travellers.

After breakfast, you will set off on a guided tour of Naples with a local expert who shares a deep passion for Neapolitan traditions and history. You will explore the city’s vibrant centre, shaped by Greek, Roman, and later influences, with fascinating anecdotes about its architectural evolution. Naples, the oldest city in Italy, was founded 2800 years ago by the Greeks as Parthenope.

You will visit Piazza Plebiscito and the Royal Palace, then stroll along the seafront with stunning views of the bay and Mt. Vesuvius. After, you’ll browse through the bustling Pignasecca market, sampling traditional street food like pizza margherita and sfogliatella, offering a true taste of Naples’ culinary heritage.

Next, you will wander through the narrow streets of the historic centre, including Spaccanapoli, and visit an artisan shop to learn about the 1,000-year-old craft of handmade nativity scenes (Presepe), intricate displays featuring detailed figurines that not only depict the nativity story but also everyday Neapolitan life.

Later, you will conclude at Naples Cathedral, known as the Duomo, where you’ll hear the story of Saint Gennaro and the miracle of his blood—an iconic symbol of Naples’ rich spiritual heritage.

Napes - Pompeii - Naples. This morning, you will skip the long lines and embark on an exclusive guided tour of Pompeii (English-speaking group tour, shared with other travellers). Admire the well-preserved frescoes, houses, and everyday objects, and search for the world-famous plaster casts frozen in time. Your certified guide will lead you through the key sites on a 2-hour small group tour, offering a unique and unforgettable glimpse into this ancient Roman city.

This region is renowned not only for its beauty and history but also for its exceptional cuisine. No visit is complete without tasting the local specialties, and you’ll have the chance to savour the finest dishes, paired with exquisite wines from the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, offering spectacular views of the Gulf of Naples.

At the foot of the majestic volcano, enjoy a memorable three-course meal accompanied by carefully selected Vesuvian wines. Afterward, you can relax with some free time before returning to your hotel in Naples for the night.

Today, after your final breakfast, depending on your departure flight time, you may have time for last-minute shopping, further exploration, a coffee at a café, or simply relaxing before your transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
