Itinerary

  • Day 1

Hahndorf German Village & Monarto Safari Resort Sunset Wildlife Safari

We meet our Outback Spirit crew early in Adelaide, where our journey begins aboard a state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz coach. We head into the Adelaide Hills to Hahndorf, Australia's oldest surviving German settlement, with time to wander its heritage streets and browse the shops. We continue to Monarto Safari Resort, where "Africa" is brought to life in South Australia's own backyard. A sunset wildlife safari aboard a safari truck brings us up close to free-roaming animals including cheetah, zebra, giraffe and rhino, before dinner on-site featuring locally sourced ingredients.

  • Day 2

Murray River Drive, Cape Jervis Ferry & Kangaroo Island Eco-Adventure Coastal Cruise

We take in views of the Murray River as we travel through Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend and the northern reaches of Lake Alexandrina, keeping an eye out for old paddle steamers along the way, en route to Cape Jervis, our departure point for Kangaroo Island.Arriving on "KI," we enter a landscape of nature reserves, geological formations and rich birdlife, with more than a third of the island protected. An eco-adventure cruise kicks off our exploration, offering an informative look at the biodiversity of this stretch of South Australian coastline. We arrive in Kingscote, the island's largest settlement, for a 3-night stay.

  • Day 3

Seal Bay Sea Lion Colony, Remarkable Rocks & Admirals Arch Fur Seal Colony

A full day of exploring awaits, beginning at Seal Bay Conservation Park, home to Australia's largest colony of breeding sea lions. A local guide leads us down to the beach to observe these animals up close, learning about their hunting, resting and breeding behaviour, with a boardwalk winding through the dunes offering sweeping views of the colony and coastline. We then head west to Flinders Chase National Park, a must-visit on any KI itinerary, to marvel at the precariously balanced Remarkable Rocks and the dramatic Admirals Arch - also home to a colony of long-nosed fur seals.

  • Day 4

Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, Kangaroo Island Spirits & Island Beehive Honey Tasting

We have some free time this morning, before exploring more of the island's highlights with a variety of local sightseeing activities and tastings. We discover the process of eucalyptus oil production at the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, sample regional spirits, and taste local honey - a true flavour of the island.

  • Day 5

McLaren Vale Shiraz Winery Lunch & Return to Adelaide

Returning to the mainland, we travel to the McLaren Vale wine region on the Fleurieu Peninsula, known for its premium Shiraz, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Grenache. Our final meal together is full of stories from the wildlife and wilderness we've explored, before we return to Adelaide, where the journey concludes at your hotel or the airport.
