Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Mexico City

Bienvenidos! Welcome to Mexico City. Our adventure begins with a welcome meeting at our accommodation. Then we’ll head out on a walking tour through Mexico City’s historic centre, where modern life blends with ancient history. We stroll past colourful Day of the Dead decorations, grand colonial buildings, and buzzing street food stalls.

We’ll visit the vast Zocalo square, where the ruins of Templo Mayor sit beside the grand Metropolitan Cathedral, and admire the Art Deco beauty of Bellas Artes. At Mercado San Juan, discover everything from tapas to edible insects - why not try an ostrich burger? There's free time for lunch, and the rest of the day is at leisure in the Mexican capital.

  • Day 2

    Tepoztlan Day Trip

Mexico City - Tepoztlan - Mexico City. This morning, we depart Mexico City around 08:00 for the magical town of Tepoztlan, a place rich in indigenous heritage and believed to be the birthplace of the Mesoamerican god Quetzalcoatl. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs, the town is known for its spiritual energy and vibrant artistic community.

With a local guide, we’ll explore the colourful streets and lively market before hiking to the hilltop Aztec ruins - an hour-long, steep ascent rewarded with breathtaking views. If you prefer to stay in town, there’s plenty to enjoy at a gentler pace. We’ll also visit traditional Day of the Dead altars and learn the meaning behind their vivid symbols. We return to Mexico City in the early evening.

  • Day 3

    Jamaica Market & Mixquic

Mexico City - Mixquic - Mexico City. This morning we visit Jamaica Market, famed for its vibrant flower stalls. As well as admiring the colourful displays, we’ll see beautifully crafted Day of the Dead altars and can grab a bite to eat if you're feeling hungry (lunch not included). We return to the accommodation around midday for a short break before heading out again in the afternoon to the town of Mixquic - renowned for its lively Day of the Dead celebrations.

Here, families decorate graves with flowers, candles and offerings, gathering in the cemetery for an evening of music, dancing, and celebration that continues late into the night. It’s a joyful and unforgettable tribute to loved ones. We return to Mexico City for the night.

  • Day 4
