Itinerary

  • Day 1

Merida at Leisure & Transfer to Cordoba

Madrid - Merida - Cordoba. We depart Madrid and travel west along the motorway into Extremadura - the birthplace of several explorers who journeyed to the New World. We arrive in Merida, the regional capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkably preserved Roman remains. Here you will have free time to explore landmarks such as the Roman Theatre, Amphitheatre and the impressive Roman Bridge.

We then continue to Cordoba, once the capital of the Caliphate and one of the most important cities in medieval Europe.

  • Day 2

Visit Cordoba & Travel to Seville

Cordoba - Seville. After breakfast, we visit the extraordinary Mosque - now a Cathedral - one of the finest examples of Islamic architecture in Spain. We also stroll through the narrow lanes of the former Jewish Quarter, soaking up the atmosphere of this historic neighbourhood.

In the afternoon, we travel approximately two hours to Seville.

  • Day 3

    Explore Seville

Following breakfast, we enjoy a panoramic city tour of Seville, including entrance to its magnificent Cathedral - the second largest in the Catholic world after St Peter’s in Rome. We visit the charming Barrio de Santa Cruz, closely linked to the stories of Carmen and Don Juan, before continuing to Maria Luisa Park and the impressive Plaza de Espana.

The afternoon is free for you to discover Seville at your own pace - perhaps sampling local tapas or simply enjoying the lively atmosphere of this sun-filled Andalusian capital.

  • Day 4

    Goodbye Madrid

Seville - Madrid. After breakfast, we transfer to Santa Justa station to board the high-speed train to Madrid. Arrival in Madrid marks the end of our journey.
