Here, we see the striking Iao Needle - a sharp lava pinnacle rising 1,200 feet above the valley floor, and a site of great cultural significance in Hawaiian history.
Our journey also takes us through Haleakala National Park and its visitor centre, the upcountry charm of Makawao Town, and local favourites including Hali’imaile General Store and Pau Vodka Distillery. Along the way, we experience a blend of Maui’s natural beauty, heritage and flavours.
The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may wish to take an evening stroll along the Ka’anapali Beach Walk or relax beachside with a Mai Tai as the sun sets.

As we travel through the island, it becomes clear why Kauai is known as the ‘Garden Isle’, with its vibrant green landscapes and lush tropical scenery. Our day includes visits to Opaekaa Falls and a journey along the Wailua River to the Fern Grotto, a natural lava rock cave draped in hanging ferns.
We continue to Old Koloa Town, where you have time to purchase lunch at your own pace, before heading to the dramatic Waimea Canyon - often referred to as the ‘Grand Canyon of the Pacific’ for its vast scale and colourful layers. We also stop at the Kauai Coffee Company and the Spouting Horn, a natural blowhole where waves force water high into the air.
Kauai is a true paradise for nature lovers, with many of its most spectacular sights only accessible by air or sea. You may wish to book an optional snorkelling adventure or a sunset sail along the Na Pali Coast. Alternatively, you can spend time exploring the nearby Coconut Marketplace, with its selection of shops, restaurants and local activities.

We begin with a drive past Diamond Head and along Kahala’s Gold Coast, known for its exclusive beachfront homes, before continuing to some of the island’s most scenic coastal spots, including Sandy Beach, Makapu’u Beach and the Halona Blowhole.
Our journey then takes us to the Nu’uanu Pali Lookout, offering sweeping views across the island, and to the peaceful Byodo-in Temple, a replica of a traditional Japanese temple set beneath the Ko‘olau Mountains. At Waimea Valley, we have the opportunity to enjoy a swim in a natural waterfall setting.
Along the North Shore, we pass Mokoli’i Island and visit the famous Sunset Beach and Waimea Beach, known for their powerful winter waves and laid-back surf culture.
