From the buzz of Marrakech to the windswept Atlantic coast and back again, this eight-day Moroccan adventure showcases the country’s rich contrasts. Begin in Marrakech before travelling to laid-back Essaouira and historic El Jadida, then on to cosmopolitan Casablanca. Explore imperial Meknes, the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the cultural treasures of Fez, where medieval medinas and ornate madersas reveal centuries of heritage. Visit Rabat’s grand monuments before returning to Marrakech to uncover its palaces, gardens and lively souks. With optional experiences and plenty of local flavour, this journey blends history, scenery and vibrant city life beautifully.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Marrakech
Your tour begins today in Marrakech. Please note that arrival transfers are not included. You will make your own way to the hotel for check-in.
In the evening, we gather for dinner at the hotel. The remainder of the night is at leisure.
Day 2
Atlantic coast journey to Casablanca
Marrakech - Essaoira - El Jadida - Casablanca. We depart early for Essaouira, once known as Mogador during the Portuguese era. This atmospheric coastal town has long attracted artists and free spirits, and its fortified harbour is one of the oldest preserved in the world. You may choose to enjoy a seafood lunch while exploring the medina and seafront.
We continue along the scenic Atlantic coast road towards Casablanca, stopping in Oualidia and El Jadida. Formerly known as Mazagão under Portuguese rule, El Jadida is home to the remarkable Portuguese Cistern, an impressive reminder of the town’s colonial past. After our orientation visit, we proceed to Casablanca for dinner.
Day 3
Imperial cities and Roman ruins
Casablanca - Meknes - Fes. This morning we explore Casablanca, beginning with the Habous district and the exterior of the Royal Palace. We also see Mohamed V Square, the residential area of Anfa, and view the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world.
We then travel to Meknes, the Ismaili capital encircled by 40 km of ramparts. Here we visit the monumental Bab Mansour gate, the Royal Stables and the historic Jewish quarter. We continue to Moulay Driss for a panoramic view and explore the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved mosaics. By evening, we arrive in Fez.
Day 4
Discovering the heart of Fes
Today we dedicate the day to Fez, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural heart. We explore the medieval medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its lively souks and traditional workshops. We visit the Royal Palace gates, the Attarine or Bou Anania Medersa, and admire the Nejjarine Fountain. We also view the exterior of the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum and the Karaouine Mosque, regarded as the oldest continually operating university in the world.
You may choose to enjoy lunch in a traditional restaurant within the medina. We return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 5
Rabat and return to Marrakech
Fes - Rabat - Marrakech. We travel to Rabat, Morocco’s administrative capital. Here we visit the Royal Palace - Mechouar, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the iconic Hassan Tower, an incomplete minaret dating back to the 12th century.
You may wish to enjoy a seafood lunch before we continue via the highway to Marrakech. On arrival, we enjoy dinner at the hotel.
Day 6
Exploring Marrakech
We begin our exploration of Marrakech with the Menara Garden, the elegant Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia Mosque and the Dar Si Said Museum. After lunch at the hotel, we explore the vibrant souks and handicraft quarters before arriving at Jemaa El-Fna Square, the lively heart of the city.
Optional: In the evening, you may opt to attend a traditional dinner and Fantasia show, featuring Moroccan hospitality, folk music and equestrian performances in a spectacular setting.
Day 7
Marrakech at leisure
Today is at leisure to explore Marrakech at your own pace. You may wander through the medina, relax in a traditional hammam, or venture beyond the city into the Atlas Mountains. Optional:Alternatively, you may join an optional half-day excursion to the Ourika Valley, where you will discover lush scenery, waterfalls and striking mountain views.
Day 8
Departure from Marrakech
Your tour ends today after breakfast. Please note that departure transfers are not included. You will make your own way to Marrakech International Airport for your onward flight.
