Summary

Discover Madrid and the Mediterranean on this 9-day tour through Spain, taking in the Roman ruins of Merida and the highlights of Seville, including Plaza de España and the Santa Cruz district. End in Barcelona with a city tour of Montjuïc and the Gothic Quarter, with free time in both Barcelona and Zaragoza before returning to Madrid.

Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Madrid to Merida & Seville

    Madrid - Merida - Seville. We depart from the bus terminal at 7:45/8:00, heading toward the Extremadura region and arriving in Merida. Enjoy free time to explore the city's Roman amphitheatre and other UNESCO-listed sites. There's free time for lunch before we continue south to Andalucía, arriving in Seville, where dinner is included.

    Please note: This tour is bi-lingual and will be conducted in Spanish as well as in English. 

    Meeting Point: C. de Ferraz, 3, Moncloa - Aravaca, 28008 Madrid at 8:00.

  • Day 2

    Discovering Seville

    Begin the day with breakfast, followed by a morning sightseeing tour that includes visits to Maria Luisa Park, Plaza de España, and the exteriors of the stunning Cathedral and its bell tower, the Giralda. We'll also explore the charming Santa Cruz neighbourhood, known for its streets, squares, and narrow alleys.

    After the tour, the rest of the day is at leisure in Seville. If you choose, there's an optional river cruise on the Guadalquivir, offering panoramic views of the Gold Tower and Expo 92, or you can visit the Maestranza bullring. In the evening, as an optional activity, you can attend a flamenco show.

  • Day 3

    Seville to Cordoba

    Seville - Cordoba. After breakfast, we depart for Cordoba. Upon arrival, we begin our walking tour, starting at the Almodovar Gate and exploring the Jewish Quarter, followed by a visit to the renowned Mosque-Cathedral. The afternoon is free for leisure activities.

  • Day 4

    Ronda & Costa del Sol

    Cordoba - Ronda - Costa del Sol. We'll depart for the Route of the White Villages and Ronda. You'll have some free time to take in sweeping views from the Puente Nuevo bridge, explore the historic bullring, or stroll through the charming old town with its whitewashed buildings and quiet plazas. Then, we'll continue on to the Costa del Sol for the night. On most departures, we stay in the town of Torremolinos, though this is subject to change. Once we have arrived at our accommodation, we will enjoy dinner.

  • Day 5

    Exploring Granada & the Alhambra

    Costa del Sol - Granada. Today, we depart for Granada. Here, we will explore the stunning Alhambra and Generalife, the former residence of the Moorish kings, renowned for its magnificent fountains, gardens, and arches.

    Please note: If tickets to the Alhambra and Generalife are unavailable on specific dates, as determined by the Patronato, an alternative city tour of Granada will be offered. This will include visits to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, as well as a walk through the Alcaicería silk market and Cathedral Square.

  • Day 6

    Granada to Valencia

    Granada - Valencia. Start the day with breakfast before we journey through the varied landscapes of Andalusia and Murcia, passing the cave dwellings of Guadix, the historic town of Baza, and the mountain pass of Puerto Lumbreras. We then follow the Mediterranean coastline towards Valencia. After we've checked in to the hotel, the rest of the day is free for you to explore this coastal city.

  • Day 7

    Valencia to Barcelona

    Valencia - Barcelona. This morning, you will have some free time to further explore Valencia or relax before departing in the mid-morning for Barcelona. Once we have arrived in Barcelona, we will make our way to the hotel for check-in. After you will have the rest of the day at leisure to explore Barcelona at your own pace, enjoy a meal at a restaurant, or grab a coffee at a cafe.

    Please note: Due to logistics, the Barcelona city tour may take place upon afternoon arrival.

  • Day 8

    Barcelona City tour & Leisure Time

    Today, after breakfast, we embark on a morning city sightseeing tour of Barcelona. We visit Montjuïc Park for sweeping views over the city and harbour, explore the Olympic Ring built for the 1992 Games, stop at the Columbus Monument near the old port, and stroll through the atmospheric Gothic Quarter, known for its medieval streets and hidden squares. The afternoon is free to enjoy Barcelona at your own pace—perhaps explore Gaudí’s iconic architecture, browse designer boutiques, or relax at a café along Las Ramblas.

  • Day 9

    Barcelona to Zaragoza & Madrid

    Barcelona - Zaragoza - Madrid. After our final breakfast, we will depart from Barcelona heading towards Madrid, passing through Lerida and stopping in Zaragoza, where you'll have free time to explore this beautiful city at your leisure. We will then continue our journey to Madrid, marking the conclusion of our services upon arrival in Madrid. You will be dropped off on Ferraz Street, near the Plaza de Espana, at approximately 17:30, though this time is subject to external factors such as traffic and passenger delays.
