Itinerary
Day 1
Rovaniemi
Welcome to Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland. On arrival, you can make your own way to the hotel, or pre-book transfers with us. The rest of the day is at leisure until the early evening, when you will meet with your tour escort in the hotel lobby for a welcome meeting with the rest of the tour group.
Day 2
Santa's Village & Arctic Circle
Today begins with an included excursion to Santa Claus Village. We'll be able to visit Santa in his office and officially cross the Arctic Circle, the border of which runs through the village. You'll get a certificate for crossing the Arctic Circle, and a small ceremony will mark the occasion!
We'll also enjoy a short reindeer sleigh ride, after which you'll be presented with your official reindeer driving license. There's time to relax with a hot drink around the fire, and you can visit Santa's Post Office to send a letter home, complete with Santa's official stamp. After time for some souvenir shopping, we'll head back to Rovaniemi, and the rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3
Husky Sleigh Ride & Ranua Zoo
This morning, we travel by coach to a nearby husky farm, where you can learn all about this working breed of dog and enjoy a three kilometre husky safari with a qualified musher. After the safari, there's time to play with and photograph the huskies before we continue to Ranua Zoo.
This is the northernmost zoo in the world, home to all manner of Arctic creatures in an authentic habitat. Elk, reindeer, wolverines, Arctic foxes and of course, polar bears, are all housed here. After our zoo visit, we head back to the hotel, and the rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 4
Rovaniemi at Leisure & Glass Igloo
After a busy day yesterday, today is completely free for you to do as much or as little as you like. You could learn about the indigenous Sami people at the Arktikum Museum, try your hand at ice floating, or head out on a reindeer safari. Alternatively, channel your inner Kimi Raikkonen, Valterri Bottas and Mika Hakkinen with an Ice Karting experience, allowing you to drive fast on the sheet ice and discover why some of the world's best racing drivers hail from Finland. Your tour escort will be able to help you plan the day to ensure you don't miss out on your preferred activity.
In the late afternoon, transfer to your unique glass igloo, where you will spend the night. As long as skies are clear, you have a great chance of being able to spot the Northern Lights from the comfort of your own bed tonight!
Day 5
Rovaniemi
Our tour arrangements end after breakfast and hotel check out. Make your own way to the airport, unless you've pre-booked transfers with us. Safe travels!
