Itinerary
Day 1
Kota Kinabalu Arrival & South China Sea Sunset Dinner Cruise
Once you have arrived at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation to check in. With the rest of the day free, you might wander along the waterfront or browse one of the local markets before your evening begins.
This afternoon, at 4:45 pm, you are transferred to Sutera Marina Jetty to board a Sunset Dinner Cruise with North Borneo Cruises. From 5:30 pm, you drift along the city's coastline, taking in the cool breeze and panoramic views across the South China Sea as the sun sets around you. Below deck, an international buffet spread and live acoustic music accompany your evening.
Once the cruise returns to shore, you are transferred back to your accommodation.
Day 2
Tamparuli Suspension Bridge, Nabalu Market & Desa Cow Farm
After breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel lobby to begin a day of discovery through the Sabah countryside. Your first stop is Tamparuli, where you cross Jambatan Tamparuli, a 200-metre-long suspension bridge steeped in local folklore - so iconic in Sabah that it has inspired both a song and a musical.
Next, you continue to Nabalu Town, home to a lively local market selling fresh produce, confectionery, and handmade handicrafts and souvenirs. You stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing on to Desa Cow Farm, set near the foot of Mount Kinabalu across 199 hectares of green pasture. Here, you can interact with the resident cattle, feed the calves, and sample fresh yoghurt and gelato.
Arriving into Kundasang, you are welcomed by the cool, misty mountain air. After checking in to your accommodation, you have some free time to take in the mountain views before a relaxed dinner and a peaceful night, with Mount Kinabalu's peaks visible in the distance.
Day 3
Poring Canopy Treetop Walk, Hot Springs & Kinabalu UNESCO Geopark
This morning, Mount Kinabalu emerges from the mist as you make your way to Poring Hot Springs. Here, you cross the Canopy Treetop Walk, suspended 60 metres above the forest floor, taking in sweeping views over the surrounding rainforest, before easing into a hot sulphur spring bath surrounded by lush greenery - a soothing way to unwind amid nature.
From here, you continue on to Kinabalu UNESCO Global Geopark, home to Mount Kinabalu and a Botanical Garden with an estimated 5,000 to 6,000 species of vascular plants. You have time to explore the park and learn about the region's impressive biodiversity, before stopping for lunch at a nearby restaurant.
In the afternoon, you transfer to your beachfront accommodation in Tuaran, where the rest of the day is free for you to settle in and unwind after a full day of sightseeing.
Day 4
Free Day: Shangri-La Rasa Ria Private Beach, Rainforest & Water Sports
Today is free for you to enjoy the resort's facilities as you wish. After breakfast, you can relax on the 3-kilometre private beach, cool off in one of the pools, or make use of the gym, golf course, and tennis courts.
In the evening, a range of on-site restaurants offer everything from local specialities to international grills, giving you plenty of choice for dinner.
For those feeling active, there is also the option to join a rainforest hike, try kayaking, or take on bodyboarding, with jet skiing and windsurfing also available at an additional cost. You can also explore the resort's wildlife reserve, home to a wealth of native flora and fauna.
Additional optional activities such as cycling tours, river cruises, and firefly watching can also be arranged, along with a dedicated play area and climbing tower for children.
Later, you can unwind with a treatment at the spa, relax on the beach, or simply enjoy some quiet time back at your accommodation.
