Itinerary
Day 1
Nairobi
There are no planned activities until an evening welcome meeting.
Day 2
Nairobi/Masai Mara
Travel from Nairobi, through the Great Rift Valley on to Kenya's premier wildlife reserve. In the afternoon, arrive in the area and get settled at the safari camp, our base for our time here.
Head out for a late afternoon wildlife safari drive with excellent chances of seeing the "big five" — watch for lion, cheetah, buffalo, elephant and giraffe. The varied wildlife and natural environment come together to provide a spectacular safari experience.
Day 3
Masai Mara
Opt to go for a balloon safari for a new perspective over the beautiful landscape. Pre-book on the checkout page to include this optional activity on your tour or ask your GCO or travel agent for assistance.
Day 4
Masai Mara/Nairobi
In the morning leave camp and begin to travel back to Nairobi on a route that allows you to spot some wildlife as your exit the area. Stop along the way for lunch at a G Adventure-supported community project. Arrive back to Nairobi and attend an optional group dinner this evening at a nearby local restaurant.
Day 5
Nairobi/Tsavo
Travel by train to Tsavo on a railway known as The Iron Snake, in honour of an ancient tribal prophecy attributed to the Masai, Kĩkũyũ, Kamba and Kalenjin tribes in Kenya. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch along the way. Enter Tsavo East National Park for a safari drive before an included dinner back at the lodge. Known for its vast, untouched wilderness, Tsavo is home to the iconic “Red Elephants” that bathe in the local red-dust.
Day 6
Tsavo
Awake at the lodge and enjoy breakfast before a morning safari drive back into the untamed wilderness of Tsavo East National Park. Return to the lodge around lunch time and take advantage of a free afternoon to relax by the pool. Or choose to book an optional afternoon safari drive. Dinner will be had at the lodge this evening.
Day 7
Tsavo/Watamu
Experience one final safari drive through Tsavo East National Park on the way to Watamu. Along the way stop for a visit to the Archaeological site of Gedi. Get settled at the hotel before an included cooking class and dinner featuring East African classic dishes popular along the coast.
Day 8
Watamu
Spend a full free day in Watamu, a small coastal town in Kenya. Known for the Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve. Sandy beaches, home to seabirds, Mida Creek, sand flats, and mangrove forests. Then, choose to visit a local ocean conservation project working to protect the area. Later this afternoon, choose to book the Dhow Sunset Cruise. The rest of the evening is at your leisure.
Day 9
Watamu/Mombasa
Travel to Mombasa today where the tour ends upon arrival. Please do not book onward travel prior to 3pm.
