Summary

This is Java: backpacker energy, built-in crew. This trip kicks off in laid-back Bandung, where tea plantations, hot springs, and hidden waterfalls steal the show. Then lace up for the Ancestor Trail hike straight up Mt. Bromo for a sunrise that actually lives up to the hype. Swap hiking boots for dancing shoes and party the night away in Kuta. Indonesia's calling, you coming?

Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Jakarta

    Arrive at any time.

For your first night out with the group and CEO, visit a local favourite Jakarta restaurant. Get to know your fellow travellers over drinks and local delicacies as you take in the bustling capital. Have a toast to new adventures and friends!

  • Day 2

    Jakarta/Bandung

Ride to Bandung and let the scenery guide you to some serenity. Tea plantations, waterfalls, and hot springs —this side of paradise is looking mighty fine.

  • Day 3

Spend the day with your group Ciater Tea Plantation to learn how tea is made, then walk to a waterfall nearby and relax in the hot springs.

  • Day 4

  • Day 5

    Yogyakarta

There's more to discover in Yogyakarta today! See some Javanese temples, bike to rice paddies on the outskirts of the city, try street food like gudeg (curry made from unripe jackfruit), or soak in the last rays of sun at the stunning Buddhist Borobudur temple complex — and make sure you don't forget your camera.

  • Day 6

    Yogyakarta

Another free day in Yogyakarta means another day to connect with it's perfect blend of rich heritage and vibrant street life. Spend today seeing whats left on your "Yogyakarta bucket list." In the evening, opt to explore the bustling energy of Malioboro Street for incredible local street food and souvenir shopping.

Today's for reaching new heights. Start the day with a village walk then trek along the Ancestor Trail to Mt Bromo, led by a local guide trained through the the tour operator-supported capacity building program. Take a jeep ride after lunch to start the hike to the volcano's crater (and take some pictures!) before going to the hotel.
