    Tokyo & Nightlife

First up is a visit to the Senso-ji Temple; Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple, before heading over to the Meiji Shrine. Next up we discover colourful Harajuku as well as the iconic Shibuya Crossing (the world’s busiest intersection!) Later we’ll experience some of Japan’s quirky restaurants and hilariously tiny bars in Shinjuku.

  • Day 3

    Sushi Class & Arcades

We are starting our day with full bellies, learning the art of sushi rolling by a sushu master. This 'Electric City' is famous for its arcase, maid cafes, Japanese photo booths and game centres.

  • Day 4

    Bullet Train, Onsens & Origami

It’s time to experience the 200mph famous bullet train! We’ll reach Nagano just in time to try out the ancient art of origami, then take a chilled out dip in an Onsen (a volcanic hot spring)! This evening we’ll live like the locals and settle in to our traditional Japanese Ryokan, sleeping on tatami mats and comfy futon bedding.

  • Day 5

    Snow Monkeys

This morning we'll dive deeper into Japanese cuisine, by learning how to roll our own Soba noodles! We'll then venture out into the mountains, spotting the region's famous snow monkeys, or Japanese Macaques. These red-faced troublemakers play amongst the trees in summer & warm by bathing in the natural hot springs in Winter. We'll then take our time exploring the gorgeous lakes and forests of Shiga Kogen National Park (summer), enjoying the fresh mountain air.

  • Day 6

    Nagano To Hakone

Today we’ll shoot off again by bullet train to the stunning Hakone, a spot famous in Japan for it’s jaw dropping views of Mount Fuji.

    Exploring Hakone

We’ll spend the morning exploring the stunning region of Hakone by pirate ship and cable car, where on a clear day you’ll have unrivalled views of Mount Fuji. Osaka Castle

Spend the morning relaxing or exploring Osaka’s awesome shopping. Later we’ll visit the incredible Osaka Castle, first built over 400 years ago. Here we’ll learn about Japanese history and Japan’s ancient warriors, the Samurai. We'll finish up by heading over to Dotonburi, Osaka's famous canal region and home to some of the best food in the country!

  • Day 9

    Buddhist Temple Stay

We head back to the mountains today for a once in a lifetime experience – staying overnight in a 1000 year old Buddhist temple in the fascinating town of Koyasan. Here we’ll be taught meditation by the monks and served their traditional cuisine. Later we'll have a night time stroll through Japan's largest cemetery.

  • Day 10

    Koyasan & Kyoto

Experience the finesse of these weapons as you channel your inner warrior and slice through rolled bamboo. Tonight we'll have our last dinner and drinks together to celebrate our time in Japan!

  • Day 13

    Explore Nara

This morning, we’ll take a local train to Nara to visit its majestic gardens and temples. Known for Japan’s largest Buddha, Nara is also famous for its friendly bowing deer. • Day 14

Travel to Hiroshima, Peace Memorial Museum & Atomic Dome

Today, we’ll head down to Hiroshima on the bullet train. We’ll check out the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, along with the Atomic Bomb Dome, which remember the tragic bombings of 1945. As we stroll through the park, we'll stop by the memorials for the victims. Even though the stories might be tough to hear, it's an important part of history that will help us better appreciate Japanese society today.

  • Day 15

    Miyajima Island

Known as one of Japan's most scenic spots, we're taking the ferry to Itsukushima, also called Miyajima Island, to see the famous floating Torii Gate. • I had the trip of a lifetime in Japan, I loved every minute. The tour covers so much of beautiful japan and the included activities were great (and seeing Mount Fuji was AMAZING!!). Dan was my leader and he was just amazing - he had so much cultural knowledge and was so organised with everything, and was always looking out for us and helping with any questions or worries we had. My group was amazing, and with Dans help we definitely felt like a little family in the end. As a solo traveller who was nervous to book this, Im so glad I did and I would highly recommend this tour and Intro travel to anyone who is considering it- you wont regret it!!! :)

  • The 17 day Japan Adventure was absolutely amazing thanks to our group leader Lachie Fleming. Lachie is incredible at his job - so approachable, knowledgeable, passionate, genuine, professional, organised yet flexible and such a laugh at the same time. He knows the ins and outs of each City, history, hot spots and had limitless options no matter what your interests were. Being a 24/7 job, Lachie was always available, consistent, high energy, positive and navigated his way around with such ease which meant we could just switch off and not worry about anything. Lachie never failed to go above and beyond to ensure everyone was having the best time and honestly made this trip an 11/10. Our group consisted of ages 23-38 and the tour was definitely catered to all. All the activities, accommodation, food and travel included were phenomenal for the price - I couldnt fault anything and would do it again tomorrow! First time in Japan and definitely not the last thanks to Intro Travel.
