Island Hopping Athens Santorini Exploration - 5 Days

On arrival at Athens airport or Piraeus port, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The afternoon is free to explore at your own pace. You might like to visit Syntagma Square, the vibrant heart of the city, and enjoy a leisurely stroll through the charming alleys of Plaka, where numerous small shops offer souvenirs and local arts and crafts. After breakfast, enjoy a full day at leisure in Athens or join our optional half-day city tour. On the tour, we explore the city’s striking contrasts, beginning with a visit to the Panathenaic Stadium, the site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. We then pass key landmarks including the Prime Minister’s residence, guarded by the traditional Evzones in their colourful uniforms, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, and Constitution Square (Syntagma). At the Acropolis, we admire the architectural masterpieces of Athens’ Golden Age—the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and the Parthenon, a symbol of harmony between material and spirit. The tour concludes with a visit to the New Acropolis Museum, home to many classical treasures (please note the museum’s visiting hours may affect the order of the itinerary). We return to the hotel around 13:30, leaving the afternoon free for you to explore further at your own pace. After breakfast, we transfer you to Athens port to board the hydrofoil to Santorini. Upon arrival, you will be met and taken to your hotel for check-in. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure on this stunning island. You might choose to unwind on the island’s long white beaches or explore Santorini’s rich history and unique volcanic landscape. After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a leisurely morning to explore Santorini at your own pace. In the evening, experience one of the world’s most stunning sunsets from Oia village. Perched atop a dramatic cliff, Oia offers breathtaking views over the caldera, the volcano, and the island of Thirassia—a truly unforgettable sight. Overnight in Santorini.
