Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Tangier & Travel to Tetouan
Arrival at Tangier Airport, where you are met and transferred to your hotel in Tetouan. Known as the White Dove, Tetouan is home to a UNESCO-listed medina with a strong Andalusian character. At the hotel, you meet our tour director and fellow travellers. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to start exploring at your own pace or relax at the hotel.
Day 2
Discover the Blue City & Continue to Fes
Today we enjoy a panoramic visit of Tetouan before continuing to Chefchaouen, known for its distinctive blue-painted houses and streets in the Rif Mountains. We visit the town, including Uta el Hammam Square, and there is free time for shopping and lunch. We then continue through the Rif Mountains to Fes, arriving in the late afternoon.
Day 3
Experience Fes
After breakfast, we explore Fes, the spiritual and religious heart of Morocco and one of its four Imperial Cities. Founded in the 8th century by Idriss II, the city has a rich historical legacy. Our visit includes the Royal Palace gates, the Jewish Quarter and a fortress viewpoint overlooking Fes el Bali - the old medina. We then walk through the famous Bab Bou Jeloud gate into the UNESCO-listed medina, where narrow alleys and traditional souks reflect a way of life that has changed little over the centuries.
We continue to a palace in the city for a couscous cooking experience, where we help prepare this traditional dish before enjoying lunch. In the afternoon, we visit nearby vineyards for a wine tasting.
Day 4
Travel to Marrakech via Casablanca
We depart for Marrakech via the motorway. En route, we stop in Casablanca for free time and a short city visit, including United Nations Square, the Habous Quarter and the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque. We continue to Marrakech, arriving in the late afternoon.
Day 5
Explore the Red City
Today we explore Marrakech, beginning with the Menara Gardens and their olive groves. We then see the exterior of the Koutoubia Minaret. In the old city, we visit the Dar el Bacha Museum before heading to Jemaa el Fnaa square, the lively heart of Marrakech, with access to the souks and medina.
In the afternoon, we visit artisan quarters, including woodworkers, potters, tanners and spice merchants. We also visit a traditional riad for a tea ceremony, where we learn how Moroccan tea is prepared and served.
Day 6
Visit Rabat
After breakfast, we depart early for Rabat. On arrival, we visit the capital, including the Royal Palace gates, the Mohammed V Mausoleum and the Hassan Tower.
Day 7
Goodbye Casablanca
After breakfast, you are transferred to Casablanca Airport. This marks the end of an incredible journey through the imperial cities of Morocco.
