Summary
SUPERIOR: Step into a world of vibrant souks, ancient cities, and sweeping desert landscapes on this immersive 7-day adventure through Morocco. From the coastal gateway of Tangier to the imperial splendour of Fes, Meknes, and Marrakesh, we trace the footsteps of sultans, scholars, and storytellers. Explore Roman ruins in Volubilis, marvel at the artistry of Morocco’s finest palaces and mosques, and lose yourself in the labyrinthine medinas where time stands still.
Itinerary
Day 1
Costa del Sol – Tangier (via ferry)
Costa del Sol - Tangier. Depart from the Costa del Sol to embark on a journey across the Strait of Gibraltar to Tangier. Upon arrival in Morocco, enjoy a guided panoramic tour exploring the surroundings of Tangier, including the Grottos of Hercules (ticket not included) and Cape Spartel. You'll have some free time to explore on your own, with an option to take an extra excursion to Tetuan.
Please note: This tour is bi-lingual, and will be conducted in Spanish as well as in English.
Meeting Point: HOTEL SOL PRINCIPE, P.º del Colorado, 26, 29620 Torremolinos, Málaga at 6:30.
Day 2
Tangier to Fes
Tangier - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes. After breakfast, we will depart through the Middle Atlas towards Fez. Our first stop will be at Volubilis to explore its Roman ruins, including the main road, Decumanus Maximus, which starts at the Tangier Gate and concludes at the 217 AD Arc de Triomphe of Caracalla. This road is paved and lined with spacious, decorated houses. We will then proceed to Meknes, one of Morocco's Imperial cities that became the capital during the rule of Moulay Ismail. In Meknes, we will visit its medina, El Hedim Square, and the renowned Bab Al Mansour gate, considered one of the most beautiful in Morocco. We will arrive in Fes in the afternoon for dinner and accommodation.
Day 3
Explore Fes
Our full-day tour explores Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital. From the royal palace and its seven gates, we delve into Fes el Bali, the sprawling medieval medina and UNESCO World Heritage Site. We follow winding alleys past artisan quarters, madrasas, mosques, and markets—from tanners and weavers to coppersmiths still working by hand. We stop for lunch in a traditional restaurant, with a free afternoon to explore.
Day 4
Fes to Marrakech
Fes - Casablanca - Marrakech. We travel to Casablanca for free time along the Corniche and a view of the Hassan II Mosque, a masterpiece crafted by over 3,000 artisans. Later, we continue to Marrakech.
Day 5
Discover Marrakech
We discover Marrakech, starting at the iconic Koutoubia Mosque before visiting the Bahia Palace, a stunning 19th-century residence. From the old Jewish quarter, we walk through the bustling souks and Djmaa el Fna Square—alive with performers, storytellers, and street vendors. We visit artisan workshops and a Berber apothecary. After lunch in a local restaurant, the afternoon is free to relax or explore further.
Day 6
Marrakech to Rabat
Marrakech – Rabat. We head north to Rabat, the country’s capital and royal residence. Highlights include the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, guarded by the Royal Guard in ceremonial dress. We stroll through the Kasbah of the Oudayas and along the scenic Buregreg River. In the evening, we enjoy a city tour and dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 7
Return to Costa del Sol
Rabat - Tangier - Costa del Sol. After breakfast, we return to Tangier and cross back into Spain by ferry. Upon arrival, our services conclude with a ferry transfer back to the Costa del Sol.
