Itinerary

  • Day 1

Mount Nemrut & the Kingdom of Commagene

Cappadocia - Kahramanmaras - Mount Nemrut - Adiyaman. Arrive in Cappadocia the day prior to the start of the tour. We will depart from Cappadocia early in the morning and drive to Adiyaman, passing through Kahramanmaras. Once we have arrived in Adiyaman, we will make our way to Mount Nemrut.

At Mount Nemrut, we explore the ancient Tombs of the Kingdom of Commagene and the imposing Colossal Statues of the Gods. We'll ascend to the Tumulus of Antiochos, the former capital of Kommagene, to witness a breathtaking sunset. This ancient funerary monument, hidden for nearly two thousand years, serves as a remarkable backdrop as the sun sets, casting serene colours across the Mount's summit. We will then make our way to our accommodation in Adiyaman.

  • Day 2

Adiyaman to Harran & Sacred Sanliurfa

Adiyaman - Harran - Sanliurfa. After breakfast, we journey to Sanliurfa through a picturesque route. Along the way, we'll pass the impressive Ataturk Dam and visit the historic town of Harran, renowned for its distinctive mud-brick houses and ancient city walls. In Sanliurfa, we will explore the venerated Holy Pools of Abraham and visit the cave believed to be the birthplace of the Prophet Abraham. After, we will make our way to our accommodation.

  • Day 3

Ancient Origins & Archaeological Wonders of Sanliurfa

Sanliurfa - Gobekli Tepe - Karahan Tepe - Sanliurfa. This morning, our journey begins at Gobekli Tepe, a groundbreaking archaeological site that has transformed our understanding of early civilisation. Here, you'll find the earliest sacred structures, believed to be between 11,000 and 13,000 years old—long before the creation of pottery, writing, Stonehenge, or the Pyramids.

Next, we explore Karahan Tepe, often dubbed the ‘sister site’ of Gobekli Tepe. This recently excavated settlement showcases similar T-shaped pillars and intricate carvings, shedding new light on the Neolithic era. With over 250 megalithic structures, Karahan Tepe offers insights into how our ancestors transitioned from nomadic lifestyles to settled communities.

We then visit the Haleplibahce Mosaic Museum, renowned for its stunning Roman mosaics, followed by the Kızılkoyun Nekropolis, where rock-carved tombs mark an ancient burial ground. Our day concludes at the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum, featuring a vast array of artefacts from Gobekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, and the Mesopotamian region, providing a thorough exploration of this historically rich area. AFter, we will make our way to our accommodation in Sanliurfa.

  • Day 4

    Euphrates Cruise & Exploring Gaziantep

Sanliurfa - Halfeti - Gazientep - Istanbul. Today, we set off on a scenic drive towards Gaziantep, stopping in Halfeti along the way. Upon reaching Halfeti, we'll enjoy a boat trip on the serene waters of the Euphrates River. Here, we will explore the partially submerged city and delve into its fascinating history and culture.

Afterwards, we continue to Gaziantep, renowned as one of Turkey’s culinary capitals. Our first stop is the famous Zeugma Mosaic Museum, which houses some of the most exquisite Roman mosaics ever unearthed, providing a captivating glimpse into the region's ancient past.

Following the museum, you’ll have free time in Gaziantep’s city centre to immerse yourself in local life. You can browse the vibrant bazaars, shop for traditional handicrafts, or enjoy a leisurely lunch. Sample Gaziantep’s acclaimed dishes like baklava, kebabs, or beyran soup.
