  The tour highlights include spotting Sally Lightfoot crabs on Bachas Beach, observing numerous birds along Darwin Bay, daily opportunities for snorkeling and incredible wildlife encounters (except on the first and last day), visiting El Barranco to see red-footed boobies, walking along volcanic formations on Bartolomé Island, and seeing giant Galápagos tortoises at the Charles Darwin Research Station.

• What type of accommodation is provided during the trip?

  You will stay in hotels for 2 nights and aboard the Eden yacht for 4 nights. Cabins on the Eden are available in twin-share (bunks on upper deck, lower berths) or double bed configurations (main deck).

• What meals are included in the tour?

  The tour includes 6 breakfasts, 4 lunches, and 4 dinners. All meals served aboard the Eden yacht are included.

• What modes of transportation are used during the tour?

  Transportation includes plane, motorized yacht (the Eden), van, panga (small boat), and private bus.

• Who will be leading the group during the tour?

  The group will be led by a CEO (Chief Experience Officer)/Naturalist Guide who is certified by the Galápagos National Park Authority while in the Galápagos Islands, and a local tour operator Representative in Quito.

• Is snorkeling equipment provided on the tour?

  Yes, onboard snorkeling equipment and wetsuits are provided for your use during the tour.

• Are internal flights to and from the Galápagos Islands included in the cost?

  Yes, all local flights to and from the Galápagos Islands are included in the cost of your tour. Passport information is required at the time of booking to process these tickets.

• What is the baggage allowance for domestic flights to and from the Galápagos?

  You are allowed one piece of luggage weighing a maximum of 23 kilograms (50 pounds), plus one carry-on piece weighing a maximum of 10 kilograms (22 pounds).

• What is the maximum group size for this tour?

  The maximum number of travelers on this tour is 16.

• Is travel insurance mandatory for this trip?

  Yes, travel insurance is compulsory. It must include medical coverage with a minimum of USD 200,000 for repatriation and emergency rescue. Personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage are also strongly recommended.

• What should I know about currency and payment methods in Ecuador/Galápagos?

  The local currency is the US Dollar. Credit cards (especially Visa) are useful for cash advances, but be aware that a 5-10% fee usually applies for purchases. It's best to bring a combination of USD cash (in denominations smaller than $100) and cards, and not to rely solely on cards. Torn or heavily marked notes may be difficult to exchange.

• Are there any specific health considerations or risks, such as altitude sickness?

  It is your responsibility to consult with your travel doctor for up-to-date medical travel information and required inoculations. Quito is at high altitude (over 8,000 feet/2,440 meters), and while most people have minimal effects, altitude sickness can affect anyone. Consult your physician on how to best prepare.

• Are laundry facilities available during the trip?

  Laundry facilities are available at the hotels in Quito at the start and end of the tour for a charge. Full laundry facilities are not available onboard the yacht, but you can bring non-polluting/biodegradable soap for personal handwashing if desired.

• Are there any optional activities available in Quito?

  Yes, optional activities in Quito include a Quito City Tour & Equator Line and the Teleférico. A full-day Cotopaxi Volcano tour is also available.

• What is the climate like in the Galápagos Islands?

  Located on the Equator, the climate is tempered by the Humboldt Current, so extreme heat is avoided. From December to June, temperatures range from 22-33°C (72-90°F) with water temperatures in the mid-20s°F. From July to November, temperatures are cooler, ranging from 18-24°C (60s-75°F), and the average water temperature rarely reaches 21°C (70°F).

• What are the safety recommendations for travelers?

  It's recommended to check your government's travel advice. Use a neck wallet or money belt for valuables, and leave valuable jewelry at home. Hotel safety deposit boxes are available. When in cities like Quito, be aware of pickpockets, especially in the Old Town, and travel in small groups or use taxis at night. Your CEO can amend the itinerary for safety reasons, and water-based activities should only be done with a guide. Swimming/snorkeling is at your own risk.

• What kind of experience can I expect on board the Eden yacht?

  The daily schedule typically includes a shore excursion after breakfast, lunch aboard, a siesta, and an afternoon shore excursion. In the evening, your naturalist guide will brief you on the next day's islands. You'll be ferried to shore via small boats called "pangas," which may involve "dry" or "wet" landings (wading in shallow water).

• Is there an extra charge for solo travelers?

  Our group trips are designed for shared accommodation, and there is no single supplement for solo travelers who are paired with someone of the same sex. If you book the "My Own Room" option, you will receive a single room for all hotel night stops.

• What are the tipping guidelines for the trip?

  Tipping is an expected, though not compulsory, expression of satisfaction. At the end of the trip, if you felt your CEO and crew did an outstanding job, tipping is appreciated. As a guideline, a per traveler tip of 7-10 USD per day for your CEO and 10-15 USD per day for the crew can be used.
