Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to the Faroe Islands
Sørvágur – Tórshavn. Upon arrival at Vágar International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace, unwind, or, if you prefer, take a short walk to catch a boat (not inbcluded) to the island of Koltur. Home to just one family, Koltur offers breathtaking views and the opportunity to walk along its cliffs, where you can admire the stunning landscapes of the Faroe Islands.
Day 2
Torshavn walking tour
After breakfast, you will set out on a 1.5-hour guided walking tour, led by a knowledgeable local guide, through the heart of Tórshavn, where you’ll uncover its rich history and cultural heritage. You will explore key landmarks, including the Viking-founded Tinganes peninsula, the Prime Minister’s Office, and the House of Parliament.
You will then admire the charming Tórshavn Cathedral and stroll through the historic Old Town of Reyni, with its iconic, black-painted houses and sod roofs. Visit the Tórshavn Courthouse before ending your tour at the scenic Skansin fortress, where you can take in breathtaking seaside views.
Please note: The activities scheduled for Days 2 to 4 may occur on any of these days and may be in a different order.
Day 3
Exploring the Faroe Islands
Torshavn - Saksun - Tjornuvik - Gjogy - Kirkjubour - Torshavn. On day 3, you will embark on a 6-hour guided tour to discover the breathtaking beauty of the Faroe Islands. Your journey begins in the picturesque village of Saksun, where you’ll be amazed by its stunning lagoon, cascading waterfalls, and charming church. Next, you will explore Tjørnuvík, a remote village home to an ancient Viking burial site and incredible views of the legendary "Giant and the Witch" sea stacks. You will also stop at Fossá, the tallest waterfall in the Faroe Islands, where you can take in its dramatic, rushing waters.
Continuing your adventure, you will visit the charming village of Gjógv, where you may have the opportunity to enjoy coffee with friendly locals while taking in the peaceful surroundings. Your final stop is Kirkjubøur, the most historic site in the Faroe Islands, featuring medieval ruins and a 17-generation-old farmhouse. As you return to Tórshavn, you will travel through the world’s first illuminated sub-sea roundabout, a fascinating engineering marvel beneath the Atlantic Ocean.
Day 4 is at leisure, for you to continue exploring Torshavn and the surrounding area however you like.
Day 5
Goodbye Faroe Islands
After breakfast, this morning, depending on your departure flight time, you may have some time for last-minute shopping, exploring, or relaxation before your transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
