Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Hanoi
Welcome to your Vietnam adventure! Upon arrival in Hanoi, you will be greeted at the airport by your private driver, who will be holding a signboard with your name.
We will then proceed to your accommodation conveniently located in the vibrant heart of the city, offering easy access to the intriguing Old Quarter. Here, you have the flexibility to explore the city at your leisure or unwind at the hotel after your flight.
Day 2
Experience Ba Vi Countryside & Transfer to Mai Chau
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before our knowledgeable, English-speaking guide accompanies us to Ba Vi, a charming countryside area on the outskirts of Hanoi.
Upon arriving in Ri village, you'll be greeted with a welcome drink and snacks as you meet our first host, Mr. Duoc. A Vietnam War veteran and tea farm owner, Mr. Duoc will share captivating stories from his past while you enjoy your refreshments.
We will then tour his tea plantation to discover how to pick the finest tea leaves for crafting Vietnam's renowned beverage. Continue with a visit to his small workshop, where traditional, manual tea production takes place.
Next, we take a short drive to Moc village to meet Mrs. Chin, who will guide you through cooking authentic Vietnamese dishes. Enjoy the fruits of your labour for lunch amidst a stunning tropical garden setting.
After a brief rest, join Mrs. Chin for a village stroll, where you'll meet local families and learn about rural life. Witness the production of tofu, conical hats, and other local crafts. The tour continues with a cycling journey through picturesque paddy fields.
Conclude your countryside experience with a traditional foot soak in warm, herb-infused water, using age-old Muong ethnic minority recipes. This relaxing ritual will rejuvenate you after exploring the village by bike. Take time to unwind under the large tree before we set off for Mai Chau.
Day 3
Enjoy Kayaking Da River
Today, we explore the picturesque Da River, also known as the Black River, renowned for its striking limestone islets. Join us as we kayak through the serene waters, immersing ourselves in the natural splendour of Northern Vietnam.
We'll visit a traditional fishing village, offering the chance to engage with local fishermen and gain insight into their daily lives. Paddle around the islets and discover the enchanting fairy pond.
We'll enjoy a lunch of local dishes before continuing our kayaking adventure. Later, we return to the hotel in Mai Chau.
Day 4
Cycling Through Thai Villages
Today, we embark on a 15 km cycling tour through local villages, offering you an immersive experience of unique Thai culture. As we ride, you'll observe the serene rhythms of daily life - farmers tending lush rice paddies and seasonal crops or herding livestock.
The picturesque scenery features dramatic mountains, verdant fields, and charming traditional stilt houses, all reflecting the rich heritage of the Thai ethnic communities, largely untouched by modernity. We will pause for lunch before transferring to another area of Mai Chau.
Day 5
Explore Sacred Mountains & Hidden Villages
Start your day with breakfast at the resort, after which our guide and driver will take us to Mai Ha village. From here, we'll embark on a scenic hike beginning with a stroll through a local Kha village. The trail leads us through a forest of tropical trees covering the sacred Pu Poc Mountain, cherished by the Thai ethnic minority in Mai Chau. As we walk, we’ll be greeted by breathtaking landscapes gradually unfolding before us.
Our hike continues to the quaint village of Te, nestled by the forest and seldom frequented by tourists. Here, we'll enjoy lunch at a local homestay, soaking in the village ambiance.
After lunch, we will walk between the villages of the Thai ethnic minority Pu and Khoe, where you can admire the tranquil mountain scenery and lush paddy rice terraces.
From Khoe village, you'll be transported back to your accommodation. Upon return, you may choose to swim or relax, taking in the views of the valley and surrounding mountains.
Day 6
Free Time in Mai Chau & Travel to Hanoi
Begin your day with breakfast at Mai Chau Hideaway. Spend the morning discovering Mai Chau Village, where you can immerse yourself in the rich culture of the ethnic Thai people or explore the stunning scenery. In the afternoon, our driver will collect you from your accommodation and take you to Hanoi.
Day 7
Set Sail on Halong Bay
Check out of the hotel this morning and be collected by the Cruise team. We’ll embark on a scenic drive to Halong Bay, passing through the Red River Delta, where you’ll see vast stretches of emerald rice paddies.
Upon reaching the pier, board the cruise and take in the stunning views of limestone formations and karst grottoes. We’ll savour a delectable seafood lunch and spend time on the sundeck as you explore the Bay.
The cruise will anchor at a secluded spot for kayaking or swimming, offering a closer look at the grottoes. In the evening, return to the boat for an early dinner, then enjoy leisure time. You may participate in optional activities on the boat or simply relax.
Please note: If adverse weather prevents the boat from setting sail or staying overnight at sea, the Ha Long Bay tour may be cancelled without prior notice. We will consider alternative tours or a refund depending on the situation.
Day 8
Halong Bay Sunrise & Return to Hanoi
Start your day by experiencing the breathtaking sunrise, followed by breakfast in the dining room. We offer a Tai Chi session on the sun deck, perfect for invigorating both mind and body.
Afterwards, we'll visit a fascinating limestone cave, renowned for its impressive stalagmites and stalactites. Once we've explored the cave, we'll return to the boat to check out and enjoy a brunch as we sail back to the harbour. Later, you'll be transferred to your accommodation in Hanoi.
Day 9
Journey to Phu Quoc Island
Savour your final moments in Hanoi before a private driver takes you to the airport for your flight to Phu Quoc. Upon landing at Phu Quoc Airport, you'll be met by your driver and taken to your beachside accommodation. You have the rest of the day at your leisure to explore or relax as you wish.
