Itinerary
Day 1
Bangkok
Arrive in Thailand’s energetic capital and make your way to the hotel independently for check in. After some time to get settled in, meet your tour leader and the rest of the families on tour at a welcome meeting in the afternoon. You’ll get the lowdown on the days ahead, with handy tips for navigating Thai culture and staying safe.
Then it’s straight into the action as we embark on a lively tuk-tuk ride past some of Bangkok’s must-see sights, followed by a welcome dinner where we all get to know each other.
Day 2
Bangkok at Leisure
Today is free for you to explore the Thai capital at your own pace, or you can join one of the available optional activities:
Take a full-day trip to the famous Maeklong Railway Market and colourful Damnoen Saduak floating market, complete with a long-tail boat ride and local market tips from your guide. Alternatively, hop on and off a Chao Phraya Riverboat to explore Bangkok at your own pace. Or, choose to glide through the city’s canals by teak boat, soaking in riverside villages, stilted houses, and views of Wat Arun and Wat Paknam.
Later, you can opt for a group dinner and night market stroll, the perfect place to enjoy some mouthwatering street food.
Day 3
Erawan Falls & Kanchanaburi
Bangkok - Kanchanaburi. Leave the city behind as we head west to Kanchanaburi, stopping along the way to hike and swim in the crystal clear pools at the breathtaking Erawan Falls. Arriving at the hotel in Kanchanaburi, the rest of today is free for you to relax or head out and explore the area.
Day 4
Ancient Ayutthaya
Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya - Chiang Mai. Spend your morning either taking it easy or opting for a spa visit by the river or an adventurous e-scooter ride through the countryside.
After lunch, we check out and travel to Ayutthaya, a former royal capital and UNESCO World Heritage site. Entrance to the ancient ruins is included and we've got plenty of time to explore before heading to the train station for our overnight train to Chiang Mai.
Day 5
Chiang Mai Homestay
Arriving in Chiang Mai this morning, we head straight to our welcoming local homestay, stopping to grab some breakfast on the way. After some time to refresh, we're enjoying a family friendly, hands-on painting workshop inspired by elephants - one of the city’s most beloved symbols. After we've finished creating our masterpieces, we enjoy a gentle stroll through a local village before returning to our homestay for dinner.
Day 6
Ethical Elephant Sanctuary
Today promises to be one of the highlights of the tour, as we make an unmissable trip to a local ethical elephant sanctuary. Observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat and learn all about how they live in the wild. For children and adults alike, this promises to be a memorable day.
We tuck into lunch at the sanctuary before heading to our Chiang Mai hotel. Later, you can unwind or join an optional Thai cooking class and enjoy the meal you make for dinner.
Day 7
Temples, Monks & Optional Sticky Waterfall
Our day starts at a local temple, where we have the chance to chat with a monk and gain insight into Buddhist life. Next, we visit the mountain temple of Wat Doi Suthep with its sweeping views, pagodas and golden spires.
We'll get back to the hotel at lunchtime, and this afternoon is at leisure. But if you're keen for more, there's an optional trip this evening to the unique "Sticky Waterfall", where you can walk straight up the rocks thanks to their natural grip.
Day 8
Fly to Phuket
Chiang Mai - Phuket. Say goodbye to northern Thailand and hello to beach vibes as we head to the airport for our included flight to Phuket. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and enjoy your first evening at our beachside resort at leisure.
Day 9
Phuket at Leisure
Today you have a free day to enjoy as you wish. Lounge on the beach, join a cooking class, try scuba diving, take a canoe trip through glowing plankton-filled waters, or explore Phuket’s temples and Old Town.
Day 10
Phi Phi Islands Day Trip
Phuket - Phi Phi Islands - Phuket. Our final full day in Thailand is spent on a full-day speedboat trip to the famous Phi Phi Islands. Swim in the emerald waters of Pileh Lagoon, snorkel at Viking Cove, relax on Maya Beach, and stop at serene Bamboo Island - with lunch included onboard.
Back on dry land, your final night in Phuket is at leisure - maybe head out with the group for a farewell dinner?
Day 11
Phuket
Our Thai family adventure comes to an end today, after a final breakfast and hotel check out. Make your own way to the airport or your next destination. Safe travels!
