Summary
Discover the highlights of mainland Greece on this 3-day tour from Athens. Begin with time to explore Athens at your own pace, including a visit to the flea market in Plaka. The tour continues to Delphi via Thebes and the mountain village of Arachova, visiting the ancient Archaeological Site, before continuing on to Kalambaka. The final day brings a visit to Meteora, home to centuries-old monasteries perched atop towering rock formations, before the return journey to Athens via Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylae.
Itinerary
Day 1
Athens Arrival & Plaka Flea Market Explore
Once you have arrived at Athens Airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel. With the rest of the day free, you might visit the well-known flea market in Plaka, the old town of Athens, at your own pace.
Day 2
Arachova Village, Delphi Archaeological Site & Transfer to Kalambaka
After breakfast, you set off for Delphi via Thebes, Levadia, and the picturesque village of Arachova, set on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. On arrival in Delphi, you visit the Archaeological Site, one of ancient Greece's most significant religious sanctuaries.Afterwards, you continue on to Kalambaka, passing through further picturesque villages and towns of Central Greece along the way.
Day 3
Meteora Monasteries, Thermopylae Leonidas Monument & Athens Return
After breakfast, you visit Meteora, taking in its striking scenery of ageless monasteries perched atop towering rock formations, home to priceless historical and religious treasures.You then return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylae, with a short stop to see the Leonidas Monument along the way. You arrive in Athens in the early evening, where you are transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
Please note: an optional additional night in Athens can be booked if you'd like to extend your stay.
