Itinerary
Day 1
Delhi
On arrival in Delhi, you will be greeted and transferred to our hotel. For centuries, Delhi has served as a seat of power, blending the historic Islamic influences of Old Delhi with the grand British-planned architecture of New Delhi. The rest of today is free for you to settle in, or to head out and start exploring.
Day 2
Exploring Old & New Delhi
After breakfast, we begin our Delhi sightseeing. We start with the majestic Red Fort, an impressive red sandstone symbol of Mughal power. Next, we take a rickshaw ride through the bustling streets of Old Delhi, exploring Chandni Chowk market and Khari Baoli spice market.
Next, we visit Sis Ganj Sahib Sikh Temple, where we can observe and participate in the community kitchen. Our tour continues at Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, noted for its grand architecture. Then we visit Humayun’s Tomb, an early masterpiece of Mughal design. We drive past the impressive government buildings of New Delhi, including Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhawan, finishing with a photo stop at India Gate, the war memorial honouring soldiers. Our day ends with a visit to the colourful Lodhi Art District.
Day 3
Delhi to Agra
Delhi - Agra. After breakfast, we drive to Agra, famed for the iconic Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1666. The fort showcases exquisite structures such as Moti Masjid and Diwan-I-Am. The city’s craftsmen, descendants of Mughal artisans, continue the tradition of intricate marble and soapstone inlay work.
On arrival, we transfer to our hotel before visiting Agra’s historic sites & a marble factory. We recommend you get an early night, as we're rising before dawn for a special day tomorrow...
Day 4
Countryside Experience and Travel to Ranthambore
Agra - Ranthambore National Park. After breakfast, we drive to Ranthambore, pausing en route for a countryside excursion that includes a ride on a village Mercedes, known locally as a jugaad. This simple but ingenious vehicle carries us through grazing pastures and fields of wheat, mustard, coriander, and chillies, with time to stop at local homes and meet villagers in traditional dress as they go about their daily routines.
We then continue towards Ranthambore, home to one of North India's largest and best-known national parks. Covering 392 sq km and anchored by the historic Ranthambore Fort, the park is celebrated for its tiger population and varied wildlife, from leopards and hyenas to deer, sloth bears, and wild boar. Framed by the Banas and Chambal rivers and dotted with natural lakes, it offers a rich habitat for both flora and fauna. On arrival, we transfer to the hotel.
Day 5
Ranthambore Tiger Safari
We begin the day early with a safari in Ranthambore National Park, famed for its thriving Bengal tiger population. Spanning 392 square kilometres between the Banas and Chambal rivers, the park is also home to leopards, hyenas, deer, langurs, civets, macaques, sloth bears, and more.
After the morning safari, we return to the hotel for breakfast. Later, we visit a local women’s cooperative that produces traditional handicrafts before heading out for an afternoon safari to hopefully spot more of India's wildlife.
Day 6
Ranthambore National Park to Jaipur
Ranthambore National Park - Jaipur. After breakfast, we visit the Dastkar Project in Ranthambore, an inspiring initiative that supports local artisans and helps resettle families displaced when Ranthambore National Park was created. Founded in the late 1980s with the Ranthambore Foundation, the project focuses on empowering women and reviving traditional craft skills that have deep roots in the region
We then drive to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and widely known as the Pink City for its distinctive architecture and vibrant heritage. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur was one of India's first planned cities, designed around astronomical principles and a clear grid layout. On arrival, we transfer to the hotel before enjoying a Pink Rickshaw ride through the city. You have the rest of the day to explore the bazaars, with optional evening activities such as a Bollywood film, a palm reading, or a henna tattoo.
Day 7
Exploring Jaipur & Amber Fort
After an early breakfast, we visit the bustling Doodh Mandi milk market at Subhash Chowk, where we meet farmers dressed in traditional attire. We stop for photos at the iconic Hawa Mahal Palace, then enjoy a cup of tea at one of Jaipur’s best chai shops. Next, we take a jeep ride to Amber Fort to explore its impressive blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture.
In the evening, we tour the vibrant Old Bazaar before sharing a farewell dinner with a local family at Suroth House, experiencing Indian culture up close, including one glass of rum with cola.
