Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Belgrade - Exploring Serbia's Dynamic Capital
Upon arrival at Belgrade Airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in the city centre. After some time to settle in, we begin with a walking tour to explore the Serbian capital. We visit Skadarlija, the city’s bohemian quarter, before heading to Kalemegdan Fortress, where sweeping views over the Danube and Sava Rivers offer a striking introduction to Belgrade. Overnight in Belgrade.
Day 2
Discovering the Danube and Slavonian Beauty
This morning we depart for Novi Sad, stopping to explore Petrovaradin Fortress, known for its commanding position above the Danube. A guided walk through Novi Sad follows, with free time to enjoy the city at your own pace. We then cross into Croatia and continue to Slavonia. Dinner and overnight in Osijek.
Day 3
Slavonia
We begin with a walking tour of Osijek, focusing on the historic Tvrđa fortress complex. The journey continues to Vukovar, a city marked by resilience and history. In nearby Ilok, we enjoy a wine tasting in the medieval Old Cellars, sampling Iločki Traminac, a wine once served at Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. Overnight in Osijek.
Day 4
Zagreb’s Historic Charms
Today we travel to Zagreb. A guided tour reveals the highlights of the upper town, including the Stone Gate, St Mark’s Church, and Lotrscak Tower. You’ll also have the chance to try traditional Štrukli at a local bakery. We continue to Rastoke, a village known for its picturesque waterfalls, before reaching the Plitvice Lakes region. Dinner and overnight in the area.
Day 5
Plitvice Lakes to Split
We start early with a visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia’s oldest and most famous national park. The network of turquoise lakes and cascading waterfalls, set within a forested landscape, is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, we continue to Split, where you’ll embark on your Adriatic cruise.
