There is plenty of opportunity to shop for pieces as our guide leads us through the village’s cobbled lanes. From here, we drive to Nicosia and begin at Laiki Geitonia, a completely pedestrianised neighbourhood nestled inside 16th-century Venetian walls. Most of the houses here have been restored from the 18th century, and the stonework is well worth photographing. Our guide then leads us through the checkpoint into the northern part of the city, where postcard-worthy landmarks include the Cathedral of Saint Sophia, Nicosia’s most important religious building. Over 700 years old, it was built as a cathedral but is now used as a mosque. We then return to Limassol for the night. Please note: Pickup for the walking tour is from the Atlantica Bay Hotel in Limassol, so please make your own way there.
