• What type of accommodation is provided on this tour?

  You can expect to stay in small, family-run hotels or pensions for 7 nights. These accommodations are typically locally-run, with traditional character, and in central locations. Please note that most accommodation in Europe does not routinely have air conditioning, but hotels will generally provide a standing or desk fan upon request on hot nights. Some properties may not have elevators.

• What meals are included in the tour price?

  Seven breakfasts are included in the tour price.

• What modes of transportation will be used during the tour?

  Transportation on this trip will be a mix of private vehicles, local buses, and ferries. You will be required to carry your own luggage short distances (up to 15 minutes walk) between transport and hotels.

• Is travel insurance required for this trip?

  Yes, travel insurance is compulsory to participate in any of our trips. A minimum coverage of USD200,000 for medical expenses, including emergency evacuation and repatriation, is required. We strongly recommend coverage for personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage and personal effects.

• What is the typical group size for this tour?

  The maximum group size is 16 travellers, with an average group size of 12.

• Are there any age restrictions for joining the tour?

  You must be 18 to travel unaccompanied. For minors travelling with a guardian over 21 years old, the minimum age is 12.

• What is the policy for solo travellers regarding accommodation?

  We believe solo travellers should not have to pay more, so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation without a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share rooms with someone of the same sex. An optional 'My Own Room' upgrade is available for a single room, though these rooms may be smaller.

• How much emergency money should I bring?

  Please ensure you have access to at least an additional USD $200 (or equivalent) as an 'emergency' fund, to be used if circumstances outside our control require a change to the planned route.

• What optional activities are available during the tour?

  Optional activities include visiting the Old Venetian Harbour (free), Archeological Museum of Chania (15EUR), Maritime Museum of Crete (5EUR), or Koum Kapi Beach (free) in Chaniá. In Loutro, you can visit Marmara Beach (free), hike Aradena Gorge (free), or go kayaking (10EUR). In Santorini, options include Akrotiri Ancient Ruins (20EUR), Museum of Prehistoric Thera (10EUR), Imerovigli Village (free), a Santorini Sunset Cruise, or a Volcano Tour. It's recommended to book popular optional activities in advance during high season.

• What currency is used and what should I know about money exchange?

  The local currency is Euros. Credit cards (Visa is most widely accepted) and debit cards are useful for cash advances. While ATMs are common, we recommend a combination of Euros, traveller’s cheques, and cards as your source of money. Be aware that a fee usually applies when purchasing with a credit card.

• Who will be leading the tour group?

  The group will be accompanied by a Chief Experience Officer (CEO) throughout the trip. Additionally, local guides will be used in places where specific knowledge will enhance the experience. The CEO will provide orientation walks and general knowledge, while local guides are licensed to share historical facts in specific cities.

• Are there any important notes for departures during April and October?

  Please note that for departures during April and October, itinerary variations may occur depending on the season and weather conditions. Ferry schedules might be affected, and access to Samaria Gorge could be limited or blocked. Our expert CEOs will prioritize your safety and may cancel activities at their discretion, offering alternatives where possible.

• Are illegal drugs or the sex trade tolerated on this trip?

  No, illegal drugs will not be tolerated on any trips. Possessing or using drugs contravenes local laws and puts the group at risk. Similarly, the exploitation of people in the sex trade is completely contrary to our philosophy of respect. CEOs have the right to expel any group member found with drugs or utilizing the services of paid sex workers.
