Itinerary

  • Day 1

Travel from Costa del Sol to Fes

Costa del Sol - Fes. We travel along the scenic Costa del Sol to Algeciras or Tarifa, where we board the ferry for a short but memorable crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco. On arrival, we complete customs formalities and continue by coach to Fes, travelling via Larache, one of the former capitals of the Spanish Protectorate.

  • Day 2

    Explore Fes

After breakfast, we explore Fes, the oldest of Morocco’s Imperial Cities and its spiritual and cultural heart. We see the seven gates of the Royal Palace, the historic Jewish Quarter and the iconic Bab Bou Jeloud gate. We then walk through the remarkable Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest living medieval cities in the world. The afternoon is free for you to relax or explore at your own pace.

  • Day 3

Visit Rabat & Transfer to Marrakech

Fes - Rabat - Marrakech. Following breakfast, we depart for Rabat, Morocco’s diplomatic and administrative capital. Here we see the outer gates of the Royal Palace, visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a masterpiece of modern Alaouite architecture, and view the Hassan Tower. We then continue south to Marrakech.

  • Day 4

    Discover Marrakech

After breakfast, we discover Marrakech - often known as the Pearl of the South. We begin at the Menara Gardens, with its pavilion set against a backdrop of olive groves and the Atlas Mountains. We admire the exterior of the Koutoubia Minaret, sister tower to Seville’s Giralda. In the old quarter, we visit the Bahia Palace, built in the 19th century for a nobleman of the city, before arriving at the lively Jemaa el-Fna Square, the vibrant heart of the city. From here, we explore the surrounding souks and medina, where traditional guilds of woodworkers, ceramicists, leather artisans and spice traders continue centuries-old crafts. Lunch is included at the hotel. The afternoon is free. This evening, you may choose to attend an optional dinner and show at Fantasia Chez Ali.
