Afterward, we'll depart the city and head to Sarapiqui, making a stop at the Pierella Butterfly Garden along the route. Set within beautiful tropical gardens, this tranquil spot is home to a variety of butterflies and wildlife. We’ll learn how butterflies are bred and have time to wander the gardens.
Upon reaching Sarapiquí, we arrive in one of Costa Rica’s premier rainforest regions, renowned for its rich biodiversity and outdoor adventure. Surrounded by lush greenery and lively wildlife, this laid-back area invites you to slow down, connect with nature, and embrace the pura vida spirit.
Day 3
White-water rafting and night walk
Today is all about adventure and nature! Start with an adrenaline-filled white-water rafting journey through lush rainforest, followed by a relaxing included lunch. In the afternoon, take a closer look at the fascinating world of leaf-cutter ants and discover their vital role in the rainforest ecosystem. As night falls, embark on a guided night walk to spot frogs, insects, reptiles, and other nocturnal creatures that come alive in the forest.
Day 4
La Fortuna & Local Farm Visit
Sarapiqui - La Fortuna. This morning, we make our way towards La Fortuna. Along the way, we visit to a local family, who have lived in La Fortuna for generations. They will guide us around their farm, where we might observe some of the wildlife that shares their home. You'll learn about the harvesting of local fruits and vegetables and have the opportunity to taste some exceptionally sweet fruits. We'll tuck into a traditional Casado lunch, paired with freshly brewed coffee from their own farm.
Day 5
Waterfalls & Hot Springs
Today is all about immersing yourself in La Fortuna’s stunning natural wonders. Begin with a visit to a breathtaking waterfall, where the jungle frames a powerful cascade plunging into a refreshing pool below. Next, take a dip in the El Salto pools, a local favourite ideal for a revitalising swim. After an active day, unwind in natural hot springs, letting the warm, mineral-rich waters soothe your muscles as you relax beneath the lush rainforest canopy.
Day 6
Hanging Bridges
The great outdoors call as we venture into the rainforest, trekking across hanging bridges that weave through the jungle canopy. Along the way, keep your eyes open for Costa Rica’s remarkable flora and fauna.
In the afternoon, you can unwind by the hotel pool, enjoying the calming sounds of the jungle. Alternatively, there's the option to zipline through the forest canopy, gliding above the misty treetops and descending into the mountains.
Day 7
La Fortuna to Samara
La Fortuna - Samara. We continue our journey towards Samara, a laid-back coastal town known for its palm-fringed beaches and calm waters. As we arrive, you can start to unwind and enjoy the relaxed pace of life. Spend the afternoon as you please - whether that’s playing beach volleyball, soaking up the sun, or sipping cocktails by the sea.
Day 8
Surf Lesson & Salsa Class
Start the day strong with an unforgettable surf lesson, learning to ride the waves with local legends who know these waters like the back of their hand. Whether you're standing up for the first time or a seasoned pro, this is your chance to embrace Costa Rica’s surf culture at its finest.
Later, swap surfboards for dance shoes with a lively salsa class, learning the rhythms and moves woven into Costa Rican culture.
Day 9
Samara at Leisure
Today is completely free for you to explore everything Samara has in store, or to do absolutely nothing - it's up to you. Whether you're interested in a calming yoga session or something more adventurous like a surf lesson or sea kayaking with snorkelling, there's something for everyone. Alternatively, relaxing by the sea with a cold drink and soaking up the sun is always a great choice.
Day 10

Samara - Esterillos. We’ll spend our final morning in Samara soaking up the sun. In the afternoon, we head south to Esterillos. We’ll pause for dinner, enjoying the scenic drive and sunset views. We arrive in the evening, check into our hotel, and you’ll have time to relax before another day of exploring Costa Rica’s beautiful coastline.
Day 11
Manuel Antonio National Park
Esterillos - Manuel Antionio National Park - Esterillos. Today, we are visiting the breathtaking Manuel Antonio National Park, so make sure your camera is at the ready! As Costa Rica's most visited national park, you'll soon see why during our exploration of its jungles and beautiful beaches. Be on the lookout for wildlife, such as the beloved sloths. After our jungle adventure, we'll make our way to the park’s stunning beaches for some sun and relaxation. Keep an eye out for the playful monkeys that inhabit this tropical sanctuary with us. We head back to Esterillos for the night.
Day 12
Cacao & San Jose
